In the past 50 years... Stairway To Heaven - Led Zeppelin (and I'm a big LZ fan) Free Bird - Lynyrd Skynyrd All Along The Watchtower - Jimi Hendrix (not even a Hendrix song) I don't hate these songs. I'm just sick of hearing them. Imagine the band having to play these at every concert for decades. These artists have plenty of other songs, but the corporate radio masters have decided these are the ones which are approved.

#1 on my list:
When Celine Dion's "My Heart Will Go On" was recorded for Titanic's Soundtrack (1997)... The song was constantly played EVERYWHERE and ALL THE TIME...
I really liked the song at first... But it was played so much, I quickly became sick of it... And now I don't like hearing it any more. I don't even like hearing parts of the score that feature the main love theme for Rose & Jack, which samples the main medley of the song...
I can't think of two more at this time...

Alright Now
is Stairway To Heaven overplayed these days? It was derided long ago as absurdly overplayed. A Chicago classic rock station joked about it and played a badly worn wax copy of it for a few seconds.

Here in NJ, one of the most overplayed songs on local radio stations and at public events has been Journey's "Don't Stop Believin'" ever since The Sopranos aired.

Because I come from the country music field, the first song that entered my mind is "Something Like That" from Tim McGraw who has plenty of songs on the radio that in my opinion are so much better.
God bless you and Tim always!!!

I would have to say "Sympathy for the Devil" by The Rolling Stones, x3.
Many years ago, I had a job and the radio station that was tuned in there played it ALL THE TIME!
What was the station's excuse, that The Stones had no other songs to play. They had been making music for 40 years!

It's a little tough since what gets overplayed tends to change a little every few years. The three songs I feel I've heard on radio more than any other are:
"Bohemian Rhapsody" by Queen "Free Falling" by Tom Petty "Under the Bridge" by RHCP

Stairway to Heaven Bohemian Rhapsody Free Bird Easily I don't hear Stairway or Free Bird on the radio much anymore, but BR is definitely being overplayed since the movie came out. Currently, I'd say the top 3 most overplayed songs on DFW radio are: Bohemian Rhapsody Jack and Diane You Shook Me All Night Long

When was the last time you heard Tenement Funster? in my car. I'm going to say it doesn't count if you're the DJ.

Are you referring to the song by Outcast? That song used to be the demonstration song that was constantly played in the stereo section of my local Best Buy... I would be shopping for movies on DVD and that song would be blasting away. Every Fucking WEEK! I didn't find the song to be too bad, but I got tired of stereo shoppers blasting me with it though. (Jesus. Get a hearing aid, and turn it down!...) Eventually they would quit playing it, and in a weird way, I kind of missed it. Later on, the song would be used in the remake film of "Flight Of the Phoenix" with Dennis Quaid, and I actually came to like the song by then... But, I'll never forget the Best Buy "Hey Ya" Experience. LOL!
