At this point I doubt it. Too much money to be made in cgi heavy franchises.

Someone was telling me about BRAWL IN CELL BLOCK 99. The wiki plot summary sounds very hard core.
I suppose that's more of a prison flick genre though.
Bronson and Norris and other such films were not being done by big media much of the time but the Cannon or some other smaller company.
if you got Tom Cruise as your action star then expect a lot of cgi because he cannot be a bad ass like Bronson could be without cgi.

I would like to see a return to Die Hard style action movies. That being said the superhero and Fast & Furious type stuff is fun. The Rock and Statham have potential. The problem is movies like "Skyscraper" have No Heart. Just generic trash, like movie cut scenes from a PS4 action game. |

That's why McTiernan needs to make a comeback, he's the only one that can make a decent Predator or Die Hard movie.

Yeah I think we're in the midst of an uptick. Movies like John Wick, Baby Driver, The Nice Guys, The Accountant, Atomic Blonde, Mission: Impossible, and Mad Max: Fury Road had given me hope.

I had to look it up but Bronson was over 50 years old in that movie.
