Surely if God was omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent,
he could run his own show?

Explain further.
Otherwise who said God needs Jesus?
Also who said God was all of those things. Define those and then there’s a conversation to be had.

I thought it was so He could dwell among us as one of us.

Well, rather than do that, I will simplify a simple question even further. Is there only one Christian God? I already have thread going about the Trinity, then it occurred to me what God is supposed to be, so why the need for more than this one God? Why prophets? Why Jesus? Why is there a need for more than the purity of one God?

I thought it was so He could dwell among us as one of us. Surely that defeats the purpose of being 'God'?

What is the difference between God and Jesus? DUH! God is the father of Jesus….except when he isn't as the Trinitarians have attempted to explain to me on the other thread. BTW Why ask me? Actually that is the point of the thread and something which I do not understand.

I believe Jesus' purpose was to spread the word of God. To teach. Jesus and his disciples hit the streets to spread the good word. I believe that was his purpose. Also, before Jesus, I don't believe there was a way for anyone to go to heaven. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong. But I'm pretty sure Jesus' death was the only way anyone, past or present, would have a chance to go to heaven. So that's another reason God needed him. WOW! Big call. Are you suggesting that Heaven was empty until Jesus' birth around 32AD?

"I and the Father are one, but the Father is greater than I."
You would have to believe in a higher consciousness to understand, which you don't.

Thus is why I asked you to explain yourself. Jesus and any other servant of God benefitted other people You never explained why God would need them and what I said seems like an oddity to you.

Why should I explain when I am asking the questions? I don't get why God a needed anyone or anything else for anything! He's fucking God FFS!!!

Jesus is God.
Now... this is where things get a bit more complicated.
Jesus is also wholly human.

He didn't need to do anything considering that He is All Powerful. I assume he did it for the lulz.

The way it was explained to me:
Judaea could not be divorced unless God died, lest God break His own rule. So, God came to earth as a man, lived, and died.
Why are you asking questions about God and Jesus when you don't believe they exist?

That's what divorce has to do with it. Kind of a shame, a staunch Catholic like you having to ask for a clarification.
