Thanks for the warning, RiP! I will hunker in the bunker. Interesting that a mile-wide asteroid has enough gravity to hold a moon. Not sure I believe this story. Anybody got a link?

Let's just hope their calculations are right and it doesn't end like:
I guess it could be interesting to get pictures of it though. A telescope should be a good investment.

And as usual, NASA say there is "nothing to fear" because you know damned well when one is going to hit the Earth and obliterate us, they won't say a damned thing.

And as usual, NASA say there is "nothing to fear" because you know damned well when one is going to hit the Earth and obliterate us, they won't say a damned thing. But IF they knew it was actually going to hit us what would be the point of telling us? There's nothing we could do about it.
I'd rather die obliviously, in peace, than have my last few days be horrible days of high anxiety with society tearing itself apart for no reason. As a matter of fact I hope it lands right on my head.
And I don't want to live in the horrible post-apocalypse that would come in the following days in which you would still die anyway.
No, no, its better this way.

I don't think they'll do that for our benefit. Most likely, they wouldn't want us to see them sneaking away to their underground shelters.
The day you see a lot of powerful elites suddenly leaving their cities and homes, that's would speak just as loudly as an announcement.

"An asteroid movie? Thanks, but I'm looking for something with a meteor role for me."

Then lets hope the asteroid is big enough that no bunker can save them. Something a mile wide should do the trick.
If nature decides... then nature decides.

I think it's futile. They think an underground bunker is going to give them everlasting life or something. They're going to die someday anyway. I'd get claustrophobia living underground. I'd rather go out in the first wave.

You n me both, girlfriend. I don't know how we'd farm in a bunker and the only human flesh I "eat' is during sex. The post-apocalypse is not for me.

i hope it hits us or passes by with enough force to nudge the earth slightly out of orbit, setting us on a 1 million year course to global death as earth's path becomes increasingly elliptical with boiling hot global summers and frigid global winters, like chinese water torture or death by a thousand cuts.

We need Space Force to build us a wall and we need it now!
