This is looking like Star Trek: The Last Picard.

So anybody else think the big evacuation they mention was the evacuation of Romulus after the nova in Star Trek '09?
If so then they're throwing the JJ-verse references in right from the get-go.
This displeases me.

This displeases me. Oh, It most definitely means the Evacuation of Romulus before it was Destroyed by the Rogue SUPERNOVA in the 2009 Movie.
That being said, I am actually Perfectly Fine with it.
I mean it obviously had a very traumatic effect on Picard if it resulted in him leaving STARFLEET and considering that magnitude of it, it is definitely understandable.
I mean when it happened.....Both Romulus and Remus were Destroyed, Countless People were Killed, and Picard's own friend Ambassador Spock was Missing/Presumed Killed (There is NO WAY, NO CHANCE that they knew that he got sent to an Alternate Reality).

This displeases me. Well Alex Kurtzman was a producers on those films and he's now working on this, so clearly he considers those events canon. What I find funny is that whole Kelvin timeline has been all but abandoned and now we're getting Trek in the prime timeline again.

I'll wait and see, but I'm not happy if that's so.

It takes place 18 Years after "STAR TREK: NEMESIS" which was the last time that we saw Jean-Luc Picard.
That being said, I am actually happy that it is taking place in the Regular Universe.
