Only if wikipedia doesn't have the specific cast & credit information I'm seeking, so rarely.

Yes, I still use IMDb. Even without the message boards, IMDb still has the most comprehensive data on movies, TV shows, actors and actresses.

Every day I think of it I look at birthdays. Every so often I read movie news. There are a lot of trailers on there. I look at showtimes and future releases periodically. Maybe once a week I look at the photo gallery when they add new ones.
Funny, looking at birthdays just about every time I look at favorites' profiles and lists and I see movies I wasn't aware of and would like to see. I'm reminded of the post some time ago about the number of movies. Way more than anyone could keep up with I bet. I think even critics only see a small percentage of all the movies. I lament over all the movies I would probably like a lot that I will never see. But it is nice to see some of the trailers, especially the old ones with the voice overs.
I sure pick up a lot of trivia. I like the biographies and quotes of the movie people, Orson Welles, David Cronenberg and Tilda Swinton for example. Somehow I wasn't aware that Robert Mitchum had a son who acts. James ? I'd like to see a couple of his movies, just to see him. He looks a lot like his Dad.
Yeah, it's a fun thing still for me. I'm not sure I miss the message boards all that much. Too often the arguments and insults were wearying. Although I do miss a few of the posters, especially in the Classic movie section. Some real scholars there.

It's still solid for keeping track of basic ratings of movies as when I see a movie I end to place my score on there not long after. plus, it's good for movie information in general. but I use Letterboxd (i.e. letterboxd.com/ ) to keep a online list of things when it comes to movies I like though even though I do log stuff in text files on my computer etc.

Of course. I rate movies, create/edit my lists and have a watchlist.

Always had an IMDb tab up to a few days ago when they stopped the up to date news bit on their main page But just found this www.imdb.com/news/top?ref_=nv_nw_tpSo I will have an IMDb tab open from now on after all ....... Also I always check scores for any movies I'm about to record/watch and update my lists every month

I only use it to get quotes for Movie Quote/Star Trek: TOS threads.
I used to write movie reviews, take polls, and rate movies - I never do any of that any more.

I only use it to look for certain titles. For example, I recently saw a documentary but I didn't know what year it was from. It has no Wikipedia page, so I searched for the title on IMDB. But that's pretty much all I use the site for. I logged into my profile a couple of months ago for the first time in TWO years.

I still pop over there for the Episode Guides and User Reviews of those episodes. I'll also use IMDb to check out filmographies. Would love to stop giving them my traffic altogether, but other websites like wiki are clunkily designed and or incomplete in these regards.

Here and there, but there a number of places on the internet where I can find the same information. I tend to the view that they'd allowed their forums to become a lunatic asylum, but they had no one to blame other than themselves for that, and I still don't like the way they screwed legitimate users over it.

I use it to look up trivia on occassion, but that section has also suffered with the loss of people who left with the boards. As a result I don't use it that often even for that. Wikipedia, Rotten Tomatoes, and Box Office Mojo is where I go most for info on an individual movie.
What I most miss about IMDB were the individual film boards. No matter how small a film you could find someone who was willing to discuss it and share observations

Occasionally I will, but it's boring for me without the message boards. I think Wikipedia is better. I used it to try and find a song from GM Nam but I had to use Google instead. For describing movies, I agree. Wiki is better and that is the only thing I mostly use it for.

I still use IMDB and contribute to it (trivia, goofs, etc) when I spot something. It's still the best source I can see for information on individual TV episodes and movies. But I do miss the Boards.

Yes, but not nearly as much as I did. Agree it is dull without the message boards, I really miss the ones for the individual films and tv programmes.
