It’s a mixed bag for me. It’s got some interesting ideas and tackles the psychological effects for the Hulk premise further than expected for a Hulk movie.
I really like Sam Elliott as Ross. That’s perfect casting. Nick Nolte is a lot of fun as the villain. Eric Bana is uncharacteristically restrained though and Jennifer Connelly wasn’t interesting.
People rag on the cgi but I think it’s fine for 2003. I like the smooth classic design better than the MCU version tbh.
Overall it’s just too long and there isn’t enough spectacle to balance the drama. Still, Ang Lee tried to be more thoughtful than I’m positive anyone expected for a blasted Hulk film. And that ain’t nothing.
