Yes. When I was in the Navy, while aboard an aircraft carrier I witnessed an aerial bombing demonstration. A target raft about a mile or so away from us was hit with a series of bombs - luckily all on target.

Only cherry bombs. They can be very annoying at a concert.

Thankfully, no.
The only explosion my ears ever witnessed was a condo unit meth lab (rumored) explosion in the neighborhood.

I guess anybody who's seen a large-scale fireworks display has heard a bomb go off: those "big" fireworks are essentially a bomb bursting in air.

[image] I hate it when those happen. Although, tbh, I wouldn't mind being there to witness it... from a safe distance, of course.

This reminds me of an old Steven Wright joke. "I remember when the candle factory burned down. The whole town stood there singing Happy Birthday".

I saw Highlander II at the theater. Does that count?

I saw Highlander II at the theater. Does that count? Probably more than watching Die Hard on satellite dish, though my husband turned it up LOUD.

Bomb? Well prolly not. During the Vietnam war, I heard my share of military artillery bursts as a vet from that era. The crack of an M16 or an AK47 was far more prevalent.

Yeah, that attack was far worse than the Bishopsgate bomb.

All the time.
Well, I feel the after effects of it, anyway. The house would shake.
We live not too far away from a quarry. They do blasting every day - usually at about 1:30 in the afternoon.
Back about 30 years ago, when I was in grade school, the blast used to freak out the teacher. It was likely because he lives in the big city, and wasn't used to it. The class was just so used to it, it wouldn't phase us.
