Social media are an interesting thing. Next to petitions signed by upset fools, they show surprising responses.
I have a fairly confidential Twitter account with 167 followers, many of them inactive and most likely not reading. Whatever exposure it gets is through the use of searched keywords and occasional retweets by or interaction from larger accounts.
This tweet took off yesterday, seemingly out of nowhere (
@wightsking replied to it), making over 12000 impressions:
It appears people are happy at seeing the expression of sympathy for Daenerys collapse.
More interesting, and more "impressive" at 24000, was this one denouncing Daenerys before she went into genocide mode. It took off after
@queen_Cersei replied to it. It seems everyone with eyes to see saw it coming and wanted to share it.
And no, it was not the one with her angry face after Misandei's death, it was actually a brainy quote showing her hypocrisy:
The most liked of the top four is this one showing Lena Headey praising survival:
At least the actress is loved, if not the character.
The 2nd most "impressive", at 19000, was the Pentos fan fiction, two days before the finale. It must have echoed a strong wish somewhere. You just have to admit she looks good:
