Then it is our solemn duty to ensure he didn't die in vain...

Don't listen to what powerful men in robes tell you.

Um.....my understanding is that we are in a state of sin by just being here. We're born into it. It's hereditary.

Jesus died for somebody's sins. But not mine. Funny how Muslims bash on Jews for being about money when Muhammad was a merchant.

then if we don't sin, then did Jesus die for nothing? He's immortal, the death was just an act. He lied! He pretended to die. Isn't lying a sin?

Nope.
The goal is always to not sin.
If one thinks they are sinless, then consider it an insurance policy.

Funny how Muslims bash on Jews for being about money when Muhammad was a merchant. Well to be fair Christians and Jews claim all Muslims are terrorists. Most Muslims aren't terrorists but most terrorists are Muslim.

Most Muslims aren't terrorists but most terrorists are Muslim. Most Jews have money but not all people with money are Jews. And the Saudi family have enough money to buy out Wall Street and the Silicon Valley.

We don’t really sin anyway because it’s just a label to describe acts some/most of us do that, long ago, was decided by a bunch of people that they offend a fictional character.

It’s just a standard and it’s no different than lawbreaking. If it makes you feel better call it something else but don’t say silly things like things that were considered sin no longer exist.

That's why Rasputin lived life to the extreme.

Which is odd since on previous occasions I have been assured by other believers that sin does not exist per se, rather all that there is, is an absence of good.

If ye all be without sin, then Jesus died for "Nut'n Honey".

Why would I care what a bunch of anonymous anecdotal believers say about sin? Quite right too. That St Augustine (to whom the idea is typically attributed) is nobody worth caring about, I guess.. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Absence_of_good So let's not care and move right along.
