Do you yourself consider "STAR WARS" to be Dead to you Now.....YES or NO ?
For me, My own Answer is No.
As Bad and Very Disappointing as "THE LAST JEDI" is (I actually also think that it does have it's moments), I still very much believe in Redemption and I already know for a fact that JJ Abrams is a very smart filmmaker (He convinced me of that with his 2009 "STAR TREK" Movie when at that time, a lot of "STAR TREK" Fans considered "STAR TREK" to be Dead). I think that Abrams will make things right again with "THE RISE OF SKYWALKER".
What does everybody else here think ?

It's not completely dead to me, but it is on life support and what happens in IX is going to determine whether the plug is pulled or not.

(just a casual fan here). I finally got around to seeing Revenge of the Sith (it was on tv not too long ago) and was entertained enough by it.
I wouldn't say SW is dead to me , But man , what Disney is doing with these SW films is definitely baffling . The new characters are NOT interesting and I can't for the life of me get into them . They are all one dimensional and boring imo. Will probably pass on seeing The Rise of Skywalker or whatever its called in theaters (esp after being burned by the The Farce Awakens & The Last Jedi, which both sucked horribly )
But I can't totally rip on what Disney has done with SW. I liked Rogue One enough to give it a 7/10 rating (the 3rd act with Vader was some boss level shit). But that was a stand alone film. This new trilogy sucks ass .

No, not at all. One bad movie does not a franchise kill. As I said in another thread, if Star Wars can survive Jar Jar, it can survive TLJ. Besides, I think it has a great future in tv. Both of it's animated shows Clone Wars and Rebels were quite good and I'm looking forward to the Mandalorian show.

It's still a viable franchise. I was very displeased with some directions that The Last Jedi took, but the train hasn't fully been railroaded. There's The Mandolarian coming up which looks interesting and a spin-off trilogy in the works.

As much as it pains me to say it, yes. The analogy I use with the sequel trilogy is that of a beloved dog. Imagine that the OT was a beloved dog that had been dead for several years. J.J. Abrams said with TFA, "Look, I can create a clone your of old dog. The clone looks like your dog, he sounds like your dog, he smells like your dog, he is your dog." And while some fans would have a preferred a new dog, most were happy to get their old dog back. Then with the TLJ, Rian Johnson screwed the pooch, set it on fire, and then took a pickaxe to its charred remains. And now J.J. is back saying, "It's a wrap. I took the dog for a walk in new and exciting places!" Excuse me? The dog is dead. The dog will never walk again. It's over! And TutuAnimationPrincess, the difference between Jar Jar and TLJ is the treatment of Star Wars fans by Kathleen Kennedy's Lucasfilm. For a year and a half, they have ignored all valid criticism, and instead attacked their customers. Lucasfilm has been saying, "Oh no we didn't make a bad movie, if you didn't like it, then you're a bad person." That kind of attitude is why Solo bombed and why TROS will likely underperform.

Listen to the audio commentary he recorded for the Blu-Ray in which he explains why he did the things he did. Among other things, Johnson is intentional on the theme of failure in the film.

No. It just needs a face lift. As a matter of fact, if the next one (ep9) is good, there's every reason to believe that we'll all be fine with the future of the franchise. After that they're taking a bit of a break and when the next ones do return they're doing them every two years instead of every one.
By the way, everyone that complains about SW is still going to there opening weekend. See you in the theatre fellas!
