The movie is available for rent on Netflix. I've seen the movie a few times, and I really enjoyed it. I was curious how the TV series was going to play out. I'm not going to be able to have access to it until it becomes available on Netflix though. Is it pretty close to the movie?

Is it pretty close to the movie? Yes. They actually have the same team behind the camera.

I finished S2. What the Hell happened?! I barely laughed throughout these 10 episodes! Very few plot ideas were interesting, and among those that were interesting, very few were properly developed. Even the finale. Without spoiling anything, they wanted to do a cliffhanger. Fine, but there's a difference between leaving the viewer in suspense and abruptly stopping in the middle of something.

Though I still loved season 2, I have to say that it wasn't as good as season 1. There were a few ideas, e.g. the witches, which could and should have been developed more, and while it's good for a laugh to see the vampires helpless now and again, it has become too much of a recurring theme for it to really be funny. The finale was actually a let-down for me.

Is it better than the movie? I thought the movie was okay, but kind of late to the vampire cliche parody party. And the guy who was the manager of Flight of the Conchords was playing basically the same character, except a werewolf now.

Season 1 is probably better than the film, only because it's fleshed out more and we get to know the characters better.
