there's times a portion of our braindead moronic fanbase sickens me. notice i said portion. 4 game losing streak (3 of the those four on the road to the Dodgers who are off the hook this year) .... still in first a half game over the Bravos. i'ts the first week of June. listening to a local sports talk radio show host - Joe DeCamera on WIP (610 -94.1) literally acting as if a funeral is in order and asking callers what the Phils did wrong the previous offseason. what's even more sickening is listening to these bone headed callers calling acting as if they've missed the playoffs - and it's the 1st frickin' week in June and they're in first. While I agree with what you said, what else is there to talk about here now? That trade the Flyers made? Jimmy Butler? All Eagles all the time? I think most of the local fan base, myself included, has no faith that Gabe Kapler is the man that can lead the Phillies to anything of note, so some sloppy play and bad decisions and a losing streak will bring that out. And you should listen to 97.5 anyway, at least after the morning show.

Just saw that McCutchen tore his ACL and is out for the year. I thought he was pretty washed up a couple seasons ago but he was having a decent enough year for the Phils.

Does anyone else think it’s very impressive how well the Astros are playing without 3 of their best players in Altuve, Springer and Correa? They have a record of 41-20, the 3rd best record in MLB, in spite of 3 excellent players being out. I wonder if they will fall off any during this next month because all 3 guys will be out for a while I believe.

a shame Nick Williams or Roman Quinn never panned out.....
a shame they never held onto Tommy Joseph as a Swish Army Knife as a bat off the bench who could play the field...…….

He is tearing it up on offense, and his defense has made great strides this year. They seem to be short one starting pitcher, but their run differential is insane.

So apparently the Braves are the front runners for Kuechel. They could use him but he's not nearly as good as his Cy Young season portrays. I'm hoping it's in the 1 or 2 year range. Last I heard he was wanting a 1 year deal around $16 million.

This can get Gausman out of the rotation and add some depth for when the youngsters need to start watching their innings limits.

I don’t remember him being discussed yet on here, but Charlie Morton is having an amazing year and should be the frontrunner for the AL Cy Young, with his win tonight he moves to 8-0 with a 2.10 ERA, he is arguably having the best year of any pitcher.
