And what a fab way to get the ball rolling. I just love their trademark caps and sharp threads. They can string a decent hip-shakin' move together too. Ah, doesn't that falsetto conjure up a thousand dreams in your mind, doesn't the whole song just make you wanna grab someone right now! It's the sensational seventies sound of The Rubettes.

Move over, guys, the gals are here with a hot piece of wax that'll get your fingers poppin' and your feet a-stompin'. Sam must be some kinda guy is all I can say. It's the groovy sound of Clout.

Here's a groovy little number from the vivacious vixen Noosha and her band. Oh those swirling moves, that captivating voice. It's the fabulous Fox.

This cat exploded on the 70s scene with a few wrinkles but, boy, did he impact. His target audience is hard to tell. Look at his ominous stance, his claw-like leather gloved hands, the left one reaching almost through the TV screen like terrifying tentacles, his right hand clutching the mic in a most unusual fashion. I guess he fell into the teeny bopper category but he may well have scared a few young girls into hiding behind the sofa. What a groovy cut this is. Alright?

Cool, that's a fab offering by Doc, a juke box rocker from the City by the Bay; I like the instrumental riffs on the chorus there. I'd never heard of The Rubinoos - but I have now.
How about this smoking little number which reached #3 in the UK Hit Parade in 1978 and #43 on the Billboard Hot 100 as well as making #1 in South Africa. Chill out and let this super steamy slice of seventies sultriness wash all over you, pop pickers.

Hey, pop pickers, who else is watching Ass_E9's little purple-dress avatar chick bopping away to Earth And Fire The song was made for her! Good show. Let's get down and dirty now with a sensational roof-raiser that we all know and love, or hate. It's a love-in for me as Merrill and Jay belt out the vocals and Donny goes mad on the Yamaha. Look at those cats move, mama.

I love to hear my late beautiful precious Billy Joe Royal cover Paul McCartney's "Every Night" in 1970.
God bless you and his family and Mr. McCartney always!!!

A couple of welcome tunes there, Andrew Gold and Billy Joe Royal doing their thing to entertain us as we continue our seventies safari with a little bit of this and a little bit of that - here's a cool dude you all heard about. Dig on his far-out frockcoat, rad Clockwork Orange hat and mouth a-poppin' gum between his lines...yes, poppets, I just know this wizard disc was rarely off your shiny new Technics SL Direct Drive Turntable. Enjoy the blast again, chums, even though you've buzzed it a hundred times before.

Here's a noisy little wild child all the way from Belgium with his Day-Glo threads and pogo-ing his way about the floor like Zebedee from the Magic Roundabout. He really got inside our ears with that "Ooh-whoo-ooh-ooh" hook! Enjoy again this frantic frenzy of fun and frolics, but remember, pop pickers, it's not him singing, it's the producer. Yeah, dear old Plastic finally came clean in 2010 after legal hassles and coughed up that he never recorded the vocals for this disc. Darn that cat! It's still a solid state stomper though and he certainly pulls it off. And don't forget, pals, 'we are the kings of the divan', whatever that means. Alright?

Speaking of scaring 70's kiddiewinks into hiding behind the sofa Dalek-stylee, I often hear folks older than myself say they were more than a little freaked out when the splendidness that is Ron Mael first appeared on their telly-screens. I love that the Mael brothers are All American California boys but this song was written in Clapham Junction of all places.

Hey, vinyl vampires, what a sensational sound there from the dishy Donna bestowed upon us from a genuine seventies starchild Darkshines. That one really brought out the best in your Fidelity Music Centre Hi-Fi stereo speakers, what? And dig those robot moves.
Let's keep the electronic-disco vibe cruising with a sizzling number from the lyrical pen of Lene Lovich, though for some reason she was never given her writing dues, and the musical swagger of Marc Cerrone. Feel that sci-fi pulse, friends, feel that far-out groove, and let the pulsating story of the mutants unfold before your very eyes. Alright?

Some good selections so far. And the Rubettes. My first offering (there may be more to follow at some point) - One hit wonders, but the whole LP is pretty good. Ooooh, funky.
