it wasnt bad. got a little slow at times, and was kind of dark overall. but i liked that aspect of it. the ending battle was great. Yeah, it was good on a technical level(acting, action, visual effects, soundtrack, etc) but the problem was the undercooked and rushed storyline.

Only 15% at Rotten Tomatoes right now as of this post. F*"K. I really wanted this to be good. Its a decent popcorn flick but falls completely flat at storytelling.

Me not: "X-Women" and Turner's bashing of GoT-fans are reasons enough for me to skip this. That is is from Disney and got horrible reviews isn't helping much either. She didn’t bash fans. She just said that she thought the “petitions and things like that” were disrespectful. How is that a bash? It's an attack on the freedom of speech and a very heavy one. "Disrespectful" is a harsh word to use. Disagree would have been ok.

"Disrespectful" is a harsh word to use. Disagree would have been ok. If you read the full interview you would know that it isn’t. She was asked a question by the interviewer about how she felt about the backlash and she just gave her honest opinion. That is just her expressing freedom of speech and the word ”disrespectful” isn’t really harsher in this context since some of the petitions are demanding the writers to get fired from Star War.

The patient was brought in with no pulse yet was hooked to the machines for 2 hours and only after 1h45 a (slight) beat appeared. That's the best way I can summarize the movie. Just like others said, the story is a mess and never really takes off. I honestly thought it was a movie about Phoenix yet she must barely lead in screen time and it must be by seconds, not by minutes. In the first half Lawrence was the best and in the second half it was Fassbender who stole the show. Turner was alright while McAvoy seemed on auto-pilot. My feeling is the actual ending sequence would have been perfect has an introduction to a movie, in which we catch our favorite heroes doing a regular mission and that is used to introduce the real story. It had nothing special or on par with what we're used to for that kind of movie. The coolest part wasn't even with Phoenix, it was Magneto unloading all the guns on Vuk yet seeing her still walking towards him and eventually kicking his ass. Also what was that weak attempt by Cyclop to get to his girl? It felt like a poor imitation of youtu.be/4UStvd5QRxM?t=49 which was an epic ending. Can't go above 4.5/10. Wait until it's shown on TV if you really want to see it.

Just saw it. It's a good movie. It's obvious that the critics didn't like it because it didn't have kiddie jokes and 1-liners throughout the movie like the crappy MCU movies do.

I say go and see it if you want a solid popcorn flick but if your a story person than skip it.

I still have a few things to see and other things to catch up like finishing a few books I have on standby for a while.

Yeah, I thought it was nice to see them in Montréal but when the Eiffel Tower appeared, I'll admit that I was a little confused for a moment has to what it was doing there in the background.

Looks like another misandrist agenda take for girlpower and lets just piss on men to show how much more powerful and stronger we are as females over males....
The joke is they have been calling it an 'X Women' movie yet it is missing the best female member of the X Men and one of the most powerful Marvel superheroes with Rogue. Hopefully the reboot gives us a proper older and fully powered version of Rogue 'cause the character is awesome and has been majorly underused in the X Men movies along with her boyfriend, Gambit. Rogue, Cyclops, Gambit, Storm, Nightcrawler, Emma Frost and Jubilee should get much more focus in the next series of movies.

I wouldn't go as far to say I hate her but I haven't been a big fan of both versions of Mystique we have had in the movies. Rebecca Romijn's version in the first three movies was nothing but one of Magneto's henchmen and would have served far more purpose in the movie if they had done it the right way and had her as Rogue's adopted Mother who raised her like she is in the comic books. They could have started the movie with Rogue being on the run from Mystique who was trying to get her to use her powers for evil and Mystique teamed up with Magneto in order to try and get her back. I am not overly fond as Mystique as a hero and I think the only time it works is when she is trying to change her ways for Rogue and be good 'cause despite the evil things she has done and her past intentions for Rogue she does care about Rogue in her own way which makes the relationship between them very complicated when it is Rogue who is fighting Mystique. I think Emma Frost works better as a villain turned hero and would rather see her as a hero in the next series of movies but I would definitely like to see Mystique again since she is not only Rogue's adopted Mum but Nightcrawler's Mum too.

Well this was a bummer :-( I blame Bad script. How about you? I saw it for a second time back on June 20th and after thinking about it and doing some background research, I believe the issue was the runtime and the editing. There was the potential for something good but the short runtime causes Jean’s hero’s journey to not have the impact it should and they cut out a lot of Jessica’s scenes which involved her manipulating Jean.
