This ninja action flick met with a lot of negativity among critics when first released, and it tanked at the box office. Nevertheless, I think it's a good action movie. I like the story, the characters, and the bloody fight scenes. Christopher Lambert has often been called a wooden actor, but he's actually convincing in his role as an American businessman. And the lovely Joan Chen is seductively sexy and delivers a strong performance (in a small role) as a woman who is aware of her fate and is prepared to accept it.
The Hunted was released on blu-ray by Shout! Factory last month.

I rewatched this one a month or two back. Solid film. The first half to me is much stronger and more exciting, especially the chase sequences like the bullet train slaughter. Once it reaches the island, I find it too leisured until the final battle/showdown. I agree Lambert is believable in the part.

It is a lot more exciting and suspenseful than the second half.
