Well, I've never been to New York, but I don't think so. New York seems to be all very modern tall buildings, whereas although we have some of those in London we also have a lot of old stuff, like the Tower of London, Westminster Abbey, St Paul's Cathedral etc. Stuff that the Germans missed during the Blitz. And wheras you have one massive park, we have several smaller ones scattered about - Regents Park, St James's Park, Hyde Park etc.

Not even close. London seemed more wide open, while New York has a cramped style about it. The Brits are friendly over all, while the New Yorkers are cold and aloof.

I never once got sworn at in the streets of London. Other than that, both cities were friendly enough, not too similar geographically speaking.

I visited London in 1984 and noticed it was much cleaner than NYC. I imagine it still is.

I visited London in 1984 and noticed it was much cleaner than NYC. I imagine it still is. Most major Western European cities are cleaner and better maintained than american cities. The State of decay in infrastructure in the NY metropolitan area never ceases to amaze me every time i visit.
