It's sad to see the X-Men go out like this.
I really wish Logan was the last film released.

That's terrible, if it has X-Men Apocalypse's legs it'd finish with $82 million but because the reception is so bad this could go under that. I have seen a lot of positive reactions on Twitter’s search. I pray that audience WOM can save it.

Origins Wolverine and First Class have a B+ which was the lowest till now. Yeah, but Origins was clearly not as liked as First Class by the general audience. It had pretty bad legs compared to First Class. After seeing how SLOP2 is only doing a little bit better(16,000,000) despite having much better positive reviews I think it’s safe to say that it was always going to do around those numbers regardless. It was a mistake to place this around so much competition.

Yeah I was surprised to see First Class had a B+, it was one of the better ones. Better than X-Men 3 anyway.

Deadline have got it even lower now. It's gone from $35.4 million to $33.9 million.
So even with Apocalypse's legs it'd only just scrape $80 million anyway but it's legs have already been worse than that movie just across Friday to Sunday.
I knew it wouldn't do very well but I didn't think it'd do this badly. This is probably gonna be lucky to sell as many tickets as Blade 3.

I think you mean Saturday. No I mean how they have the Friday at $14 million and the weekend at $33.9 million makes it a 2.42x multiplier across the weekend. Where it was a 2.5x multiplier for Apocalypse.

Weekend estimate is $33 million domestic and $140 million worldwide.
So it opened to half of Apocalypse in US.

That's too bad. I thought it at least looked better than Apocalypse. I thought the lack of Ivan Ooze was a huge improvement.
I wish they had given us New Mutants, Dark Phoenix, then had ended it all with Deadpool Kills the X-Men Universe. Would've been brilliant.

According to Box Office Mojo it’s foreign opening weekend is slightly higher than Apocalypse’s. I noticed that and thought it odd but when I checked that foreign opening for Apocalypse didn't include China whereas it does for Dark Phoenix. China opened on Apocalypse's third weekend. Deadline are saying that it might only make about $300 million worldwide now.

Just went to my local small town theater to see Godzilla and they're not even showing Dark Phoenix on it's opening weekend. Pets 2, Aladdin, and Godzilla are being shown in the 3 theaters.
