Even after the rumors are confirmed that everyone had great intentions and, only had the fan's best interest in mind, it still doesn't amount to a hill of beans. This is not how you handle the most seminal X-Men story of the last forty years. They had a second chance and, THEY. BLEW. IT.
The bright side is we won't have to see any of the fucks again in 30 DAYS for the exciting conclusion. At long last, it's over.

Ever notice how the soldiers that took the mutants away were called the “MCU”?

The energy spent on that dig could have been used to make the movie better. There was a 2+ hour post-reboot version that screened back in November that fleshed things out much better. Notice how a lot of scenes and lines in the trailers were shortened or complete cut out from the final film. I guess the studio wanted it to get more screenings like with Daredevil.

How did the two-hour screening test?
At some point, they must have realized they had a bomb on their hands and decided to go into full damage control mode. Shortening the film to get more screenings in sounds like they were trying to stem the inevitable blood loss.
My only question, since Fox announced this is, why Dark Phoenix? There is plenty of other material in the X-Men catalog to adapt. This fiasco was 100% avoidable.

Shortening the film to get more screenings in sounds like they were trying to stem the inevitable blood loss. I talked to two people who saw it. They say it’s good(not top-tier in the franchise) and one of them said that version was better paced. Also has alternate dialogue that’s better. Vuk and Jean’s last exchanged was: Vuk: “You could have been a God” Jean:“I’d rather die a mortal” Instead or the whole “emotions” nonesense. Due to the summer being packed it was released in less theaters than the F4 from what I heard. For the same reason why they did Deadpool’s origin again.
