www.syfy.com/syfywire/quentin-tarantino-star-trek-r-ratingDo we need to hear Kirk say "motherfucker" a lot or have Uhura get called the N-word in the Tarantino Star Trek universe? I think that Discovery TV show got some flack because "fuck" was said in an episode and many Trek fans feel profanity is out of place in Star Trek. I think Trek IV and V have profanity in them although certainly not on the Tarantino level.

The more he talks, the more convinced I am that he's a can short of a six pack.

Yeah, I am not even a fan of Star Trek and I can tell that "many Trek fans feel profanity is out of place in Star Trek" is true. certain things can't be altered much from how they have been and this is one of those.

Am I the only person here dying to see this movie? I don't care if it's rated R or G.

That is actually cursing (from Dr. McCoy) that is still Normal for " STAR TREK" and for the McCoy character.

I'm not which characters would be in this film - assuming it gets made - could the new cast (Pine, Quinto etc) be brought back after Star Trek 4 (I don't know what else to call it) fell apart? If not, a new cast of characters?

Eh not a fan of this, one because I am not a Tarantino fan, but done right I wouldn't mind this, that being a movie based in the Trek universe but not featuring Star Fleet in the manner we typically see them in these films, like if this was a movie focused on gun runners or a group of smugglers working say in the BMZ between the Federation & Romulan, Klingon or Cardassian space, where then the Cardassians are the main villians with Star Fleet acting as a secondary foil to the protagonist, the smugglers and villians being the ones using the foul language and stuff I would be fine with, the smugglers are outside of the Federation by choice, they are remnants of humanities past bad behaviour so it would work imo.
Sadly Tarantino will likely have Kirk screaming "mother fucking god damn, Uhura I have me some jungle fever baby, come here and let me eat that *blank* c**t" or something equally as out of place.
Not like bad behaviour and such isn't in Star Trek but Tarantino's type of language isn't, like O'Brian and others refer to the Cardassians with Trek's level of racially derogatory names such as spoonheads and stuff, so there is room for it if handled right, I just doubt Tarantino can as all he seems to know how to make is his type of films which would be a spit in the face to the Trek franchise.
Also I don't get why some people think this is a good idea, like for Trek specifically, people say he puts asses in seat but not really, Into Darkness did better than his highest grossing film by like $40m, so it's not like his audience is so much bigger than the Trek audience, and Tarantino's style will likely ostracise most of that Trek audience, so it just seems fucking stupid imo.

Am I the only person here dying to see this movie? I don't care if it's rated R or G. To be honest I would just like to see a sci fi movie directed by Tarantino. I don't care if it's Star Trek, another franchise or something completely original.

The idea sounds very interesting but I'm not sure if it'll work. I could be absolutely wrong, though, and I hope I am.

With the constant talk of his premature retirement, I'll happily take any new QT movie going forward. He's the king of the event movie. Enjoy it while it lasts.
