Long time Christian conservative idiot and all around horrible person Rick Wiles claims that plant based meat and dairy products are an evil scheme to change the DNA of humans so they can’t worship God or be born again. What! Don’t believe me? Here are his words:
This sort of extreme lunacy is not new to Wiles. Leading up to the 2018 mid-term elections he warned listeners that if the Democrats won they would slaughter thousands of Christians. And here’s one that made me laugh: last summer he predicted that Rachel Maddow was going to lead a bloody coup attempt against Individual-1’s administration.
But those aren’t even his best. In May he told his enthralled audience of MAGAs that conservatives will “impose Christian rule in this country” (that’s a little scarier than his usual drivel) and that proponents of reproductive rights will spend eternity being “aborted continuously forever” by demons in Hell.
Excuse, me. Must dash. I’m off to pick up an Impossible Burger Pizza.

Mike, quite a bit of stuff like this is deliberate disinformation, so that people like you will start threads about it on message boards. But as long as it serves your purpose you probably don't care.

Do you think he really believes this stuff, or does he feel he has to keep upping the looney bird ante in order to keep the spotlight (and the donations that come with it)?

But as long as it serves your purpose you probably don't care. One of the major debate tactics of conservatism is to blame others for what they, the conservatives themselves, do. You’ve got some noive telling me that I am using the tools of the right-wing after I have the Almost Too Reverend Wills own words at length. Besides, I – like most other “liberals” e.g. reality and common sense based – carefully vet the blogs and news sources we use. The story of “changing DNA” first appeared on the venerable and reliable site Right Wing Watch founded by Norman Lear's People For The American Way. Others I trust and rely on are: Crooks and Liars, Media Matters, Daily Kos, Joe. My. God and for some laughs Wonkette.

Well to be fair, one of the purveyors of meatless burgers is called Morningstar Farms. Clearly a Satanic reference.

I'm not very proud of it now, but I was a member of that junk organization for many years.

As long as 'they' don't mess with the Green Giant Protein bowls, I'm all good. People are so gullible; it's why I prefer cats!

In your first post you mention disinformation regarding Rick Wiles but I haven't seen any of it yet, just bile spewing which is typical conservative. How about setting me straight?

He's a fool for the devil. Practically nothing messes up your body and DNA more than meat does. Meat is a slow poison, meant for temporary consumption at best. I found it easiest to go cold turkey and quit it altogether in 1992. That's easier than the masochistic plan of eating it only twice a week and continuous torment. Meat is a Satanic drug.
That said, we have to also be careful of "meatless burgers". Are they natural? Or are they full of chemicals? Veggie burgers would be ideal, if they aren't laced with too many chemicals.

I've had the Beyond Beef burger. It's not bad, it does taste closer to an actual beef burger than any of the other veggie burgers I've had, though I think it is a little overhyped and certainly not quite as good as the real thing.

I don't give a shit whether a burger is meat or meatless. What I care about is stupid people who have somehow acquired a following of other stupid people being so disingenuous, ignorant and misinformed on facts that they start conspiracy theories, misinformation and just plain crazy nonsense. It is representative of the even more worrying worldwide trend that is particularly alarming in the US case of anti-intellectualism and the disrespect for knowledge.
This is how Trump got elected and Hitler rose to power. Anti -intellectual fear based policy and ideas. It is called propaganda and the only defence to it is a free press, education and a fair election system.
Again things that Trump and Co are working against.
