There seems to have been a lot of Candi Staton songs remixed in France. I've heard some remixes by a guitarist named Pepe Braddock; I once looked him up online as people were saying on youtube he was a major force in house music back in the day.

Candi Staton - The Thanks I Get For Loving You
I believe there's more of Candi Staton's early studio work recorded with musicians who were based in Alabama that's still stuck inside the vaults. Some rare tracks have been unearthed over time and then released on compilation albums. For example, she cut a version of Dolly Parton's song 'Jolene' that only came to light more than a decade later. She also recorded versions of Mac Davis' songs 'Spread Your Love On Me' and 'Something's Burning', as well as her better-known version of 'In The Ghetto' (which Parton also recorded a version of). 'Jolene' - Candi Staton
Fortunately, there were also some seriously great songwriters connected to Muscle Shoals and Fame back then, including George Jackson who wrote some terrific songs recorded by Staton. Better yet, she was finally able to share her own talents as a songwriter with the release of her album 'Chance' (1979).

Never heard that before, again, thanks. If you haven't already got it, Kent Soul's, compilations, 'The Fame Studios Story', are excellent. Breadth and depth.
