I didn’t realise this was actually happening. I thought it was just an idea that was being floated around (much like that planned series The Graysons).

Pass, looks like a show they couldn't sell on it's own so they just slapped some comic related ip's into the script.
Also is the guy doing a Michael Caine impression for Alfred? Oh dear fucking god no, I'M OUT!! ok I was already out but now I am seriously out.

Thank you for sharing the trailer with us Chalice_Of_Evil. I have to be honest and say I am not overly thrilled about this show either and think it is sad we are getting this while 'Swamp Thing' has been cancelled and we will never get to see it here in Australia but I will give this show a chance and maybe it might turn out to be a lot better than some of us are expecting. I just think it is unfair we get an Alfred show which many Bat Universe fans don't want over Red Hood, Red Robin, The Spoiler, Azrael, Orphan and Bluebird TV Shows which would be far more exciting to watch and my pick for a Bat Family TV Show as you and many others know would be a 'Batgirl' show hands down but with the movie coming it seems unlikely we will get both especially since one of the showrunners of 'Titans' said they got blocked from using Batgirl 'cause they won't let anybody use her as a guest star or a member of a team and she has to be used on her own.

Why wont you guys get Swamp Thing in Australlia, as far as I knew all the DC Universe shows are licensed to Netflix internationally, so once the show fully airs in the US it will be put up on Netflix around the world, or has something changed with that?
And yeah it's annoying we are getting this sort of rubbish instead of an actual character people could get something out of even if it had to be another Batman related property, but I dunno was this a show DC was behind and they shopped around or was this a show cobbled together for whatever network that was willing to pay for a loosely related Batman project?
An idea I have is why not do an Arkham show as a mesh between like Prison Break/Oz/OITNB could be an interesting idea for a Harley prequel series, or done anthology style with a new slew of patients/inmates every year, Batman has a big enough rogues gallery you could get 5 seasons out of it easy.

I agree. Out of all the comic book characters they could’ve made a TV series about; I don’t imagine many people were clamouring for one based around Batman’s butler. All I’ve ever wanted in a Batman-related TV series is a live action version based on Batman: The Animated Series. I reckon if they were able to get the rights to do a show like that, it’d have enough material to keep them going for quite a while. If not that, then a Batgirl series would be awesome, and I wish they’d just let it happen instead of worrying about a movie that they haven’t even been able to cast yet. Having said all that^, in the event that we actually ever *do* get to see the Pennyworth series here (I doubt it’ll ever be on free-to-air TV here. I’ll probably have to wait or for the DVD/Blu-ray...assuming it even lasts long enough to get released on DVD/Blu-ray), I’ll at least give it a chance. It might turn out to be decent if it focuses on being its own show and not relying on ties to Batman. I mean, a few occasional nods/foreshadowing would be fine, but I don’t think an over-reliance on it would do the show any favours.

Well, the reason I am unsure is 'cause there have been a lot of other American TV Shows that have been cancelled after only having one season we never got to see on TV here and I don't know if you got 'Once Upon A Time In Wonderland' in the UK but we didn't get it here in Australia despite Channel 7 having the air it spun off and having an Australian actress playing Alice and there have been a few shows I wanted to see but can't 'cause we didn't get them here and they were never released on DVD. I assumed it might have been the same case with 'Swamp Thing' but I am not sure what Netflix are like with their shows compared to channels and do you know how many episodes it got and if it ended continued. One more disappointing thing I read about the show apart from being cancelled is it was meant to lead to 'Justice League Dark' with Zatanna and others joining at some point but I am confused how Constantine would have fitted into the show with him being in 'DC's Legends of Tomorrow' and the news about a spinoff happening not long ago and would they have got another actor to play him or used the same one and had 'Swamp Thing' take place in the 'Arrowverse?' It sounds like there were a lot of missed opportunities and let's hope the next shows don't suffer from any problems and they don't close the DC Universe. No. That is why I don't understand this and if there is no connection to Batman other than the name Alfred Pennyworth they might as well have called it something else instead of tying it to Batman and while I agree with you that it could turn out to be a decent show on its own if it doesn't heavily focus on its ties to Batman it seems like an attempt to cash in on the name and reminds me of what Warner Bros did with the 'Catwoman' movie which from what I read was originally another movie and got slightly changed to be 'Catwoman' and that is why the movie didn't have Selina Kyle as the main star and they didn't care as long as they got it out. I hate all the silly blocks they have put on Batman and other characters in the DC Universe on TV and things would be so much better if they didn't have them and a new 'Batman' show would be fun and they could base it partly on the 'Animated Series' but also base it on the comic books with the other Bat Family characters such as The Spoiler, Orphan, Batwoman, Red Robin, Batwing, Bluebird, Hawkfire, the Signal etc all joining in the later seasons and taking the places of Batgirl, Nightwing and Red Hood who would go on to have their own spinoff shows. That would be awesome to see and we got a 'Superman' TV show back in the 90s with 'Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman' but we haven't had a Batman show since the 60s and I don't understand why they are so against it but they have blocked Batgirl from being used on TV and Nightwing was supposed to be in 'Arrow' in Season 3 but I think he got blocked too.

A show about Alfred from the 1960s Batman TV show?
Now THAT'S an Alfred show I would watch!
