Favorite Ride?

A toss-up between old favorites--Pirates of the Caribbean (though I wish it were still the pre-Johnny Depp version) and the Haunted Mansion--with two new favorites for runners-up: Indiana Jones Adventure (only at Disneyland, unfortunately) and Tower of Terror (now only at Disney World, also unfortunately). I can expand in detail later, but how about you, shannondegroot?

I can never ride TOT twice in a row or I'll get queasy though. Test Track is a lot of fun at Epcot. I've never been to Disney land, would like to check out Indiana Jones.

TOT is absolutely one of the best uses of themed space I know. The ride mechanism is actually inferior, though still fun, to the theming, which is incredible. One truly believes that one has entered a movie, or even a real abandoned, haunted hotel (it's so eerie--eerily beautiful, as much as that term is overused). Absolutely amazing. That is why I was so very disappointed that the Disney Company closed the one in California to make way for a ridiculous Guardians of the Galaxy ride, and why I am praying that they don't make the same mistake in Florida, with its superior version. Peter Pan is a classic, as you note. Test Track is great fun, though I wish they'd kept the prior theming, which was more in-depth. I've only been to Disneyland once in my life, when I was in the area for another reason and had a day to spare. Indy is absolutely one of the best rides Disney ever created. It's like Dinosaur at Animal Kingdom, only more fun and less twisty (Dinosaur takes a toll on your neck!), and beautifully themed. It truly transports the rider on an adventure, just as TOT, HM, and PotC do too. Anyone else interested in joining in? Themed attractions have obvious similarities to films (as probably made most evident by Disney Hollywood Studios and Universal Studios). EDIT: I'll also add that I'm a great fan of Disneyland's absolutely bonkers Mr. Toad's Wild Ride, if only for the wacky ending, in which the rider goes to hell!

Mr Toad's Wild Ride, and it's not even close.
Honorable mentions to Peter Pan and Pirates of the Caribbean.

Mr Toad's Wild Ride, and it's not even close. It is indeed a wild ride, ain't it, Colden? At the risk of spewing forth a hopeless cliche, Disney could never get away with it nowadays. (Note the ride's pointed similarities not with The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad, except in surface theme, but rather with early, very dark Disney cartoons, such as " Pluto's Judgment Day.")

By the way, anyone here interested in the Haunted Mansion or in Disney rides in general should check out this website. Its analysis is beautifully in-depth and ingenious, with new things around every corner for the HM. It justifies my contention that it is by far the most thematically detailed and brilliant ride at Disneyland/Magic Kingdom (with Pirates as a close second).

Epcot: Ellen & Bill Nye's World of Energy Magic Kingdom: Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean, Jungle Cruise, and the train. MGM/Studios: Great Movie Ride, thought I rode the Rockin' Rollercoaster once and it was fun. Animal Kingdom: Does the car ride through the animals count as a ride?
Never been to Disneyland- although I hear they did a lot of TRON stuff when TRON LEGACY came out, so I wish I had gone back then.
PS: Anyone else remember the Osbourne Family Lights from MGM/Studios, at Disney World? Wasn't it awesome?

Space Mountain. That ride used to scare the crap out of me when I was a kid. I was so worried about riding a roller coaster in the dark that I begged my father to skip it. He did, though, I mustered up the courage later on in life and actually thoroughly enjoyed it.
Splash Mountain is another one. It's a nice way to cool off on a hot summer's day. It's a Small World is also a goodie just for the song itself.
I know this isn't necessarily a ride (unless you count the revolving stadium), but I like the Carousel of Progress. It was interesting to see Walt Disney's version of the future.
