Beautiful, mysterious and austere. A nice companion piece to Alverson’s Entertainment (2015). The narrative again being a literal journey coupled with an amazing stylistic formality. This time cold and claustrophobic consisting of greys, beiges and greens confined to a tight 4:3 aspect ratio contrasting with the former’s widescreen panoramas and bright primaries. Great restrained performances save an unnecessary IMO theatrical outburst from Lavant in the second half.
