NJ, I'm not allowed to go on Facebook, so I can't see the main message.
If someone would give me the gist of the thread, it might be fun to respond.

NJ, I'm not allowed to go on Facebook, so I can't see the main message. If someone would give me the gist of the thread, it might be fun to respond. It's a 2 minute video clip of a discussion about spoons and forks. The host says he uses a spoon to eat salad. A lady on the panel disagrees and asks him why he would even do that. He replies that instead of impaling his salad he likes to scoop it up gently to his mouth. The panel of four all agree that beef stew would be eaten with a spoon (for the gravy) They agree you could eat a steak with a spoon and a knife. "Could you eat cereal with a fork?" Yes, says one, all day long and it just makes the milk taste better when you finish (presumably he means drinking the milk from the bowl - what???) "Urgh, gross. Come on, what are you, six?!" says another panellist. He replies "Well, you could get some of the milk on the fork. You could even pour more cereal in it, you'll never run out of milk." Another panellist says "As someone who has won a cereal eating competition - nine bowls - I can tell you that a fork is inefficient." A pretty useless two minute discussion really. You're not missing much. If I had to choose between a knife and fork or a knife and spoon for the rest of my life I'd choose a...um, tough one. Just can't imagine tucking into a sirloin with a spoon, but then again I can't picture myself drinking straight from the gravy boat.

Ah, thank you. From what you describe, I'm fork, all the way.
I eat oatmeal ... pretty much my only cereal ... with a fork. I like it thick, with a little butter, and s/p.
For the lovely stews, and other dishes that have glorious gravy, I put them over a bed of potatoes/rice, let them meld together, and use a fork.
Using a spoon, in tandem with a knife, for meats sounds awkward. But, I've never tried it.

Spoon.
Doesn't everyone drink the milk after you're done with the cereal? You just dump it down the drain? That seems awfully wasteful.

Spoon. Doesn't everyone drink the milk after you're done with the cereal? You just dump it down the drain? That seems awfully wasteful. Plus it's so flavorful from the cereal.

Depends on what the food is. If itβs liquidy, a spoon. If itβs something unwieldy that needs to be picked up rather than be balanced, a fork or chopsticks.
