They are very overpriced. Do you think they give the right information to start or maintain a business or just reel in gullible business wannabes?

Most of the ones I've seen don't really tell you how you're supposed to survive financially while you're waiting for that start-up business to make profits. I think they tend to assume that everyone who decides to 'do what they love' is either affluent enough or has enough savings tucked away to stay afloat til that happens. They don't seem to be terribly realistic guides for the average joe with an average income (or less) who wants to move from working for somebody else to being their own boss.

I'd say the authors rake in far more profits from their books than they would from starting up and maintaining the businesses that they encourage their customers to start up and maintain. I don't imagine there are many chapters in these books detailing the successful business ventures of the authors. But I could be wrong. And it's books, DVDs, pay and click downloads, ticketed events, seminars. I don't buy it.
