I wonder why someone chooses to believe or deny dieties mindlessly by becoming a theist or atheist, when the only rational position is agnosticism? If there are no proofs about the existence or nonexistence of gods, the only rational choice is to wait until somehow it can be proven by facts. People who believe or deny without facts have irrational minds. I choose agnosticism.

I do not attach myself with any particular stance. I have never felt any serious inclination to even question about existence of soul/god. So I don't even deny such things. I am more than happy in watching cricket and other sports and movies and having good things to eat.

I'm also agnostic, though I don't agree that agnosticism is the only rational position.

I met God and his wife, twice. The first time in Nashville in 1983, the second time in Knoxville about three or four years later.
EDIT: I almost forgot, I've met God's daughter several times over the years.

That's apatheism (maybe you don't like being attached to that stance, but it seems like that's what you are).

Upper left, but not far from the upper right. Agreed. (A)theism and (A)gnosticism are not mutually exclusive.

I did a quick wiki search on apatheism and it seems it captures me well even if I don't want to be captured. It says: So there is a term for my way of thinking too! I previously used to state I am a non-theist and non-atheist.

Who moved this thread in religion? It's not about religion, morons. Which board would be a better choice? This thread seems better suited on the RFS board than the various political posts that are started here, IMO.

I previously used to state I am a non-theist and non-atheist. I have some sympathy for apatheism. Certainly, the god debate is not something that makes much difference to my personal life. I'll talk about it if people bring it up, but that rarely happens offline. Even in more intellectual contexts, like if we're talking about philosophy or science or whatever, it rarely seems to make any difference whether or not the interlocutors believe in god. If people have been brought up with religion, I can understand why atheism or agnosticism might be an important part of their identity. For me though, the question of whether god exists is rather like the question of whether there exist any four-legged, furry creatures in the Andromeda galaxy. I don't know, I probably never will know - but perhaps more importantly, it doesn't really matter. It's a rather silly question.

My stance is simply. Live and let live. People become grownups before long and then they can do as they want.
