Now that the Kardashian Pepsi ad has fallen flatter than an open can of Pepsi, can you recall some other commercials that attempted to exploit social consciousness in order to sell their product? The only ones I can recall are:
One from a few decades ago, for Maxwell House's "1892" variety of canned coffee, in which a little boy solemnly saluting a flag at a parade is featured (because drinking Maxwell House coffee is supposed to be a sign of patriotism?)
A current one which features a woman using Coffeemate creamer, and then adopting a dog from an animal shelter. The tagline is "Coffeemate means commitment." Uh, what?
