I actually feel sorry for Catholics, having to defend the indefensible because …..(NOT only their version of a triumvirate God) butt the powers that be in the Church from the Pope down. I will give you that THIS Pope is a small step up, however the rest of the dirty old men in the Vatican are for the most part a disgrace if they attempt to pull the progressive Pope backwards to the bad old days of everything that was wrong with the Catholic Church. edit: That is why I respected @father Jack because he promoted the key values of an improved Catholic Church and was honest and disapproving of the bad side. We all disapprove of the bad side in the Church (pedophile clergy & Bishops that covered for them). Many of the people that demanded the most answers regarding all of that, plus the removal of Bishops that covered up abuse, were practicing, devout Catholics. ...too little, too late! Several hundred if not thousands of years.

So what's your point then...that people shouldn't expect an institution that is led by Christ to act any better than an institution led by ordinary, selfish humans...that Christ doesn't think that the institution that HE leads must show itself to the world as much better than other institutions? If that's the case, then Christ is giving no reason for people to follow him into that institution. (And so he shouldn't blame them if they don't).
Christ Teaches us how to live, but, it is ultimately up to us to follow. Yes, you already said that, and I asked you if that means that people shouldn't expect the institution that you say he leads to be much better than other institutions. So, if you respond by just repeating what you said, nearly word for word, do you understand that it makes you seem like a mindless robot?
In any case, Christ taught people, "Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves." (Matt 7:15) Why shouldn't people who want to follow Jesus and look at the record of the Catholic Church conclude that it represents just the sort of wolves that Jesus taught people to watch out for?

The Catholic Church in & of itself is not a false prophet, because of the fact that it was Founded By Christ (St. Matthew chapter 16, verse 19). However, He also Said "and the gates of Hell will not prevail against her." That means that Hell will try - but not succeed -in bringing her down. What is the best way to try bring an institution down? Right from the inside.

Why have you called the Catholic Church her and then gone on to say that the devil got into 'her' and brought it down from the inside. Sexist much? The weak female like Eve bringing the Church down, whist the evil old dudes ACTUALLY did the bad stuff? 2. I love that Catholics have this wonderful thing that I call Catholic Convenience. There is an explanation formulated for every inconvenient truth, from the dichotomies of the Triumvirate, through the system of ' Confession where you get absolution and go out and do the same stuff over and over, and then the covering up of the inconvenient facts of the fallibility of the exponents and power figures in the Church...
and you guys just suck it all up!
This is endemic immorality and hypocrisy.

The Catholic Church is the Bride Of Christ, that is why we refer to the Church as " her."

I know that Catholics would take the Vatican's word for that. But to any outsider it sounds like a convenient way to cover for a much simpler explanation for the record of the Church - that it's not guided by Christ at all, but just guided by a common crowd of abusive, greedy, and power hungry people.

People who merely don't follow Jesus' teachings are not usually the ones running churches and claiming to be guided by him. It's the wolves in sheep's clothing that do that.

Surely it is the male power hungry greedy sexually aberrant ones that are bringing the Church down? Maybe the female ones just use contraceptives and stuff?

It's the wolves in sheep's clothing that do that. You will get no argument from me there. Then if you agree it brings me back to my original question. If Christ is guiding the Catholic Church, why would he allow it to amass a record that makes it look like it is run by the sort of wolves that he warned people to avoid? (My answer: He wouldn't. Therefore, he doesn't guide the Church.)
