At least, I think it was a comedy.
All I remember is toward the end of the movie, everyone involved getting excited over the government getting them quonset huts. I seem to remember that was a running gag through the movie.
Does anyone remember this?

Maybe. Some of the cast sounds familiar for what I'm thinking of and it does revolve around an American town. I will have to watch this when I get a chance and check. This could be one of those movies from back then I forgot I had seen.
