He talks about the animals he met everyday as well as the beauty of the Dales. The titles of his books are taken from the hymn: All Things Bright and Beautiful, All Creatures Great and Small, All Things Wise and Wonderful, The Lord God Made Them All. There is also a special edition showing pictures of the places he lived and worked in. I loved them all. They are funny, beautiful and loving.

Ring of Bright Water - Gavin Maxwell (about otters)
Silent Spring - Rachel Carson (about the deleterious effect of pesticides on nature - very famous book and the first of its kind.)

Walden by Thoreau is probably the most famous book about nature.
