Luck's presser the other day had Irsay written all over it. Just a completely tone-deaf panic move. One of the best QBs of his generation makes the emotional decision to give up the game early, and gives his impromptu retirement speech in a t-shirt.

I liked their outfits in the early 2000's but then they fucked that up and made everybody run around looking like big cans of Monster Energy Drink!
But to be honest I love the exposed carbon fiber look on the front of the helmets. No team anywhere from high school, collegiate or pro still has not copied this look. All original. I hope they never get rid of it in the future.

I'm thinking it won't be announced until like close to the last preseason game or so - but you'd have to think he gets the starting nod over Fitzmagic, no? Unless he bombs in preseason and Fitzy lights it up. Fitzpatrick is famous for that. He had me fooled a couple time into thinking he was an NFL QB. He did it with Buffalo, Houston the Jets and Tampa. Puts together a couple good games then stinks as if to say "Nyaaaah, fooled ya, didn't I." Well - That answers this question. Apparently Fitzy did in fact beat out Rosen and will be the starting QB Week #1

It also helps that Goff looked like he just saw his grandmother naked during warmups.

It's not just the Patriots, it's all Boston sports teams. As a Boston fan I stopped posting on the ESPN boards back in the day because I was tired of the insane Boston fans, not the anti-Boston trolls. You couldn't say anything negative about any of the teams without everyone going berserk. I made a comment about the Patriots defense not being great one year (and they were terrible) and everyone was convinced I was either a Jets or a Steelers fan. I once made a joke about Chara not playing in a playoff game due to illness and I thought my monitor was going to explode. The anti-Boston stuff does get tedious but you'd think they'd have thicker skin by now.

I've never understood this angle. The Patriots don't have fun? Winning isn't fun? I watch the team every week. I see the footage from practice, I see the post-game interviews and the banter among teammates. I see guys having fun and taking their job seriously. If your definition of fun is tweeting at 2AM on game day, showing up to camp in a Brink's truck or skipping meetings than yeah I guess they're no fun. Incompetent programs must be a blast to play for; no rules, no expectations, no consequences. All I know is the Patriots seem to have a lot of fun winning, year after year. Belichick gives the team a day off (NO DAYS OFF!) after the win over Philly and the players go nuts. Seems like they have some fun. (and before you point it out: yes, I obsessively follow everything that Belichick/Brady do. Like all Colts fans.)
