Speaking of Barker, I think Hellraiser has great bombastic score that doesn't really get talked about: Have you heard the original unused Hellraiser score by Coil? I haven't. Not bad, kinda reminds me of Broken Arrow. youtu.be/TO1uIZPWQeQStill prefer Young's work, though.

I find ye olde folk tunes unnerving. I reckon they should make this into a full musical though:

Yeah not so much about iconic themes but I like music that subverts the nature of the film such as Freebird in Devil's Rejects or Sussidio and Walking on Sunshine in American Psycho. Even Stuck in the Middle with You in Reservoir Dogs.
Again from the Wicker Man(1973), a song that jars with the underlying tone of the film:

You might cite the score for The Third Man as well. Echoed, similarly, by the xylophone score in True Romance... although that ends up being a bit more earnest.

Well, I guess I have already posted a few of these clips or videos some years ago, not really sure, but I really think some of them are not only up there with many of the most famous ones, some for me, even goes way beyond that, and well, they have that special feel or vibe to them, which very few of the more popular seems to bring along.
Jerry Goldsmith - Psycho II - Theme (1983)
(By the way, the main theme starts around 01:40) I guess this one could be considered both the main theme and also the end theme, but I really love this extended version, and there is something very sad and lonely about the melody and theme, and when you think about how tough it must have been to try and follow up one of the most famous movies and movie themes, I think Psycho 2 by Richard Franklin did one hell of a job at that, especially getting the right tone and atmosphere. That is very much down to the soundtrack, and for me this absolute beautiful and haunting piece of music by Jerry Goldsmith. Patrick Moraz - The Stepfather End Titles (1987)
I have actually forgotten the main theme, but I hope it is okay to also include the end titles, as I have always been fond of this moody and upbeat synth pop instrumental, that somehow was very difficult to find for a while, but someone have uploaded it as the end titles from the sequel. Anyway, for me it is just one of very many memorable 80s horror themes. Brain Damage (1988) - End titles (1988)
Maybe one of my absolute most loved end themes, as this dreamy and almost "hypnotic" piece of music, came out of "nowhere" when I first saw the film, and I become almost as addicted to it, as what Brian was to Aylmer's "juice" the first time I heard it.
Still, beside having this calming and relaxing sounds to it, there is also a sadness in the music and melody, and again, when the saxophone comes in, I am completely "lost" and would have wished it would just go on for several minutes or more.

Pino Donaggio’s takeoff on Bernard Herrmann’s score for Psycho for Dressed to KIll:
Seconding Sleepy Hollow, though it can get too bombastic and just plain loud.
Enjoyed Danny Elfman’s similar score to Dark Shadows, too:
And thought James Bernard’s score for Kiss of the Vampire was better than some of his more celebrated Hammer scores:
This in particular is a nice piece:

Candyman....its perfectly eerie
Sleepwalkers...just mentioned it in another thread but as far as popular horror themes go I think it gets forgotten.

Since Goblin's theme for the original SUSPIRIA is the very definition of "iconic", my answer is...
