I am tired of this format Bring back wide screen! But agree the film looks interesting and with the powerhouse of talent in front of and behind camera it will most likely be good.

I am tired of this format Bring back wide screen! I think it can work well with the right film, and have seen some great examples over the past few years ( Jauja, A Lullaby to the Sorrowful Mystery, A Ghost Story, The Assassin, though the last one I'm sure would have worked just as well with a wider aspect ratio). Didn't know it had become that common.

My most anticipated movie of the 2nd half of 2019. Looks stunning and the reviews are highly positive with a current 9.1/10 average on Rotten Tomatoes based on 52 reviews and 91/100 on Metacritic.

In two minds about the multiple format of The Grand Budapest Hotel, I understand why they did it, just not sure if it worked as well as it would have with a single aspect ratio. I've not yet seen First Reformed either, but have a DVD copy waiting to be watched. As I have less than zero interest in the subject matter of mid90s, I probably won't be seeing that.
