Most people don't realize that there has never been a trial after 29 kids and young adults were killed or went missing from 1979 to 1981 in Atlanta. 29 people. The one thing they all had in common is that they were black. The Atlanta Child Murders were a time in the city’s history where fear gripped black neighborhoods as child after child was found dead or never found at all. Since the 1980s, the infamous killings have been blamed on one man. A man that has never stood trial and a man who prosecutors never brought evidence against. Wayne Williams. He’s serving life for killing two adults, unrelated to the Atlanta Child Murders. Williams is the only suspect investigators made known publicly. But he wasn’t the only one. In 1986, 11Alive obtained exclusive documents from a secret investigation into a deadly group of racist murders, the Klu Klux Klan. Those documents are called the 8100 File. Now, an informant said he believes at least one of the kids was killed by the Klan. New investigators found that 4 of the 29 cases are unlike the others. What do y'all think? Was there more than one serial killer? Here is the story - www.11alive.com/article/news/investigations/atlanta-child-murders/before-he-dies-a-witness-is-sharing-what-he-knows-about-the-atlanta-child-murders/85-47edcdb0-296a-48cc-9c27-606b9eb985e8

Pretty sure a white Klansman stalking black kids in a black neighborhood would stick out like a forest fire.

It's tough to say. The Klan theory sounds intriguing. But Williams was just too suspicious a character.

I think it could have been entirely possible that there was more than one killer involved, but I tend to think Williams definitely committed at least several of the murders.

I think Wayne Williams is guilty of the murders he was convicted for and the evidence is strong.
He may not be responsible for killing the female victims attributed to the Atlanta murders, but it’s possible. I think he’s gay and there was a sexual component to the killings.
He may have had an accomplice. Most eyewitness testimonies appear to be of black suspects.
As to the other murders attributed to the same serial killer being unsolved, that’s the way it goes. Most serial murder cases aren’t wrapped up neatly.
I doubt the KKK responsibility for most, if not all of the attacks. The evidence is scant, and it sounds like a smokescreen by his friends, family or other interested parties that others have taken on board.

This guy who escaped as a seven year old says it was Wayne Williams who tried to abduct him:
