Thanks for that great idea to add new emoticons. I thought you used some sort of markup or extension to add those cool emoticons. Never would I've guessed it was through Post Image. I use Post Image too. I might go emoticon hunting very soon.

and then there's the chronic interrupters who go OT in an already OT thread and say "But I digress, as usual, LOL."

LOL means I literally laughed out loud, chuckled, smiled, smirked, etc.I'm being honest in the sense that what I am responding to amused me. I never type it just for the sake of it.

One should also take care in typing such things. Catman once typed LMAO and now has no place to sit.

I use Post Image too. I might go emoticon hunting very soon. You're welcome. Yeah. Post Image is one of the easiest ones to use as long as the site isn't playing up which it has occasionally in the past and you just need to collect a few emoticons and put them in a folder and them upload them all on the site together in one go and it will create a photo gallery that you can continue to use as long as you like if you keep the link for it. I have created a few photo galleries for my emoticons and saved the links for them on a Word Document and when I write on this forum I just open a few of them on another tab and then I copy and paste the codes for the emoticons with the 'Insert Image' tab. I have been an Admin and moderator on phpBB2 and phpBB3 forums in the past and when I had my own forum I added a lot of emoticon packs to it using the Admin panel and I saved a lot of those emoticons I got into folders. Some of them I have had for over a decade and others I only got recently. This is an example of one of the photo galleries.

postimg.cc/gallery/3imo3h9jw/f95b9cad/ I did wonder how you matched the links with the emoticons. Now I know. I never had any problems with postimage, probably cos I've never found the need to use it that much. I vaguely remember you mentioning somewhere that you have had experience as an administrator in the past. That is cool. My own idea to match emoticons and their links is to first save the emoticons to a folder (like you said). Then upload one image at a time to postimage. Then you copy the direct link of the image with just one click. After this, you create a word document. You can paste the emoticon itself along with its link in the document, so you can see them all in one place. In practice, since I don't use emoticons as much as you do, it remains to be seen if my idea is worthwhile.

I never type it. I rarely laugh out loud anyway, since I'm kind of a female Stephen Wright (ironically, Wright is one of the few stand-up comedians who can make me laugh out loud).

LOL is mostly a chuckle thing with me. If I were to demonstrate myself “laughing out loud” I would probably say LMAO.

I would say in the past I used 'lol' a bit too often for sure as it was almost a reflex at one point.
but for quite some time now... I use it here and there and sometimes I do actually laugh but sometimes it's more of a basic comment to say something was at least mildly funny in some way even though I might not see it in the strict terms of what it's official definition is, which is actually 'laughing out loud'.
but I will say if I am actually laughing out loud quite a bit... I might tend to exaggerate that basic 'lol' to something like 'LOLOL' etc. or I might make it clear I am literally laughing quite a bit etc.

Sorry for taking a few days to respond to you but I have been busy this week and between that I have been having problems logging into this forum and other sites with my Google Chrome browser so I am using Mozilla Firefox for the time being unless my Uncle can solve the problem with it 'cause everything I have tried doesn't fix it and I can't log in here or on Instagram and it is such a pain!! The problems I had with Post Image only happened occasionally in the past and the links to my photo galleries wouldn't load and when I typed in the website it worked but if you tried to upload anything it wouldn't and I think they have got that problem fixed now 'cause it was last year and the year before it was playing up the most and I had to use a different image hosting site for my Emoticons on here and I haven't had problems with it this year. I like Post Image though and I used to use Photo Bucket and another one I think was called Image Shack but I think Photo Bucket charges you to use it now and I wasn't willing to pay a site money just to upload some emoticons and pictures to use on forums when we have been able to do it for free for years.
I actually did something similar to your idea with emoticons in the past and I used to have them all written separately on a Word document with the name of the Emoticon and the link to it but when I realised I could have Photo Galleries on Post Image which I actually discovered by mistake I decided just to save the links for the galleries. Back when I was an Admin I have all my Emoticons simple codes like  and  so I could just type them when I was writing to people without even needing to go through the Emoticons and with Pokemon if I used a Pikachu emoticon I just wrote :Pikachu: and it came out. I had to make sure I always surrounded the words with these :____: though or members could be writing posts and emoticons would turn up when they didn't want them.

I use Firefox and it's my default browser. I have Chrome and Microsoft Edge as well, but don't use it. In Firefox, the automatic update is on so I don't have to worry about manually updating it and it works in the background. Sorry to hear about your Log In problems, hope your uncle fixes it soon. It's good to have someone to come and fix things for free. That would be a real mess if members here typed Pikachu or Love or Angry and emoticons popped up instead of words. Also, not everyone here uses emoticons. Maybe they just got tired of using those old IMDb emoticons.

Well, I am getting used to using Firefox again to write on here but it just feels so much slower than Google Chrome especially when I am loading articles that have ads on them and they cause my browser to freeze sometimes and have you ever had freezing problems with Firefox and know what the best solution is 'cause it is the same problem I was having the last two times I was using it when I was going back and forth with Google Chrome and it is so annoying when you are trying to write on here and it gets jammed. I have heard of Microsoft Edge and I think that is the browser the X Box One has and I might install that and see how that goes. Sadly my Uncle wasn't able to fix the Google Chrome problem with logging into here and he got it to log into my Instagram account with some link he got that made my profile logged in and all I had to do was type my password in again but I have given up with Google Chrome with this. It is good to have somebody who can fix things for free for you and my Uncle has a friend who is a computer technical and he fixed my laptop for free when I was having problems with it but I had to give it to him for a few days and he said he could fix this but I would have to give it to him for a few days again. As long as it is working this way is all that matters and I am mostly happy with Firefox except for the jamming problems.
It would have been a mess if I had left it that emoticons came up every time members wrote words and some people don't see the fun in using emoticons like I do but it was fun having that forum before I had to close it down and it was mostly something we wrote on to people we knew in person and I was mostly a moderator on a a music channel's forum for a few years and I met a lot of good members on there and was friends with the Program Director and he would send me free advanced albums in the mail along with merchandise and I got to pick some of the songs for the countdowns they had on the channel and got all the schedules for the shows in advance but some psychotic moron and his friends came along and ruined the forum for everybody and it went on for years until the Program Director had to close the forum down.

When I bought my current laptop, Google Chrome was my favourite browser. But then I had some scary display issues while maximizing windows. I automatically blamed it on Google Chrome and immediately switched to Firefox. As it turned out, the culprit was my HDMI cable and I replaced it and everything was fine. I never went back to using Chrome, cos I was very satisfied with Firefox. Even though I don't have a fast computer, I can't remember a time it actually froze. I guess I'm lucky so far.
Maybe you should remove all unnecessary Firefox extensions. Try uninstalling Firefox completely and then install the latest version. Also the problem maker might be some other program you've got running while using Firefox, such as an Antivirus. Close everything except Firefox, disable Firefox extensions, use just one tab and see if it still freezes. I'm not an expert, so my suggestions are limited.
If Firefox slows down while loading pages with ads then you can try the extension called uBlock Origin that blocks all ads and is light and doesn't use much computer resources. It was suggested to me by the user mslo79. I wouldn't recommend Microsoft Edge. It falls way short of Chrome, Firefox or Opera.
