I like pie, but don't often make it because I am not the best with pastry. Love cherry pie. Pastry can be painstaking. I love cherry pie, too. I can't think of any pie that I don't like. I made a raspberry pie once. It was kinda tart, but it was very pretty to look at. With the exception of pumpkin, which I hold in medium esteem. It's really the spices that I am not overly fond of, like cinnamon and nutmeg and all spice and others. my friends refers to these collectively as the holiday spices. Sometimes I like to experiment and if a sweet dish calls for one of the holiday spices, I might replace it with ginger, which I love to pieces. It sometimes works, if only in a pinch. And I cannot bake something sweet without vanilla extract. Even if the recipe does not call for it. I practically insist on it. Vanilla really does give the final kick.

Tomato pie? Wow. My taste buds just did something completely new. Is tomato pie anything in the realm of quiche? I can't imagine it being served as dessert. Tell me more. i love tomatoes, just don't know if I want it served ala pie.

As plain as it is, vanilla ice cream is by far my favorite. There is a late night convenience shop about two blocks away from me. I just might have to get myself there in the next couple of hours. They have a really nice selection of ice creams. Yum... I am not familiar with that clip, Toasted Cheese. It's almost like a parody of Hercules Poirot. What is it from?

Sweet for my sweet (sugar for my baby)? - Key Lime, thee chosen pie of he cheesecake arena.
Savoury? Liver & kidney all the way, ...
I waited tables only once in my life. I was the worst waiter you ever saw. Yee-gods. Nightmarish experience. The best part about it was this delicious orange creme chiffon pie that was on the dessert menu. Personally, I think that chocolate gets too much representation on the dessert menu and there is a lack in variety. That pie was delicious, though. I love the orange flavor. The other thing that I learned was how well blue cheese dressing and french dressing go together. They really do! That plus some bacon bits and scallions on your salad and it is to die for. It's decadent.

I am not experienced with the organ meats (except for the one that counts most). I've had liver maybe twice. Cooked with onions. It carried a pretty strong flavor, as I recall. One time I had a friend who ordered fried brains. God, what a spectacle.

In George Armitage's crime movie 'Miami Blues', based on a story by Charles Willeford, the vinegar is the moral essence.
Yes! I did make vinegar pie once for a Thanksgiving potluck style dinner! Wow! I had never had it before, don't think I had even heard of vinegar pie before. I think maybe it took a balsamic vinegar, I could be wrong on that. But it was only me and this one other fellow who liked it. He had three pieces of it! lol I suppose people will not think it's going to be good, but it was. And it still had a sweetness to it. Kind of like how strawberries can take a balsamic vinegar + white sugar, really brings out the flavor in the berries! I thought about including it here. But I did not for whatever reason. So, thank you for reading my mind, petrolino!

Surprised no one posted this yet (the tragic ending of the singer could be a reason though):

I love ginger and would be happy to spice many things up with it and vanilla too, so good call. The variety of life is in the spice Mr. D and I have always loved many spices. Do you like Indian cooking? I love spices, too. And I like Indian food very much, though I have never actually prepared any Indian food myself. There is an Indian dish that calls for peas and some kind of creamy sauce that I just love. Curry, dill, ginger, cumin and cilantro are my favorites. Though cilantro I guess is not really a spice. But I love cilantro. For some reason, I never have been overly fond of garlic. I like it on buttered bread/toast and it's fine with pasta, but the flavor is not super appealing to me. It's just real strong.

It's just real strong. I love hommus, but one has to be careful with the garlic quantity due to its strength of flavor. Garlic is the only food source that contains 5 of the 6 tastes that is why it is popular to cook with. I had to look up cilantro, but it is coriander, or a cousin of it. Coriander is very popular as garnish in Indian cooking. 5 of the 6 food tastes? I have never heard anything like that before. You mean like bitter, sour, sweet, salty, etc? Please tell me more, Toasted Cheese. I am curious now.

5 of the 6 food tastes? I have never heard anything like that before. You mean like bitter, sour, sweet, salty, etc? Please tell me more, Toasted Cheese. I am curious now. Sweet - nourishing - water and earth Sour - refreshing - fire and earth Salty - eliminating - fire and water Pungent - heating - fire and air (ether) Bitter - cooling - air and space Astringent - constricting - air and earth
Each taste contains two of the five basic elements that comprise the universe. Each taste also contains it own quality or purpose. Meals that are carefully prepared using all 6 tastes, can give us a nutritious and balanced diet. The taste buds on the tongue instantly send a signal to the brain, which in turn then talks to the body. For example, if you have a skin issue\disorder, avoid heating and acidic foods.
Wow. I find that very interesting. I need to be more nutrition conscious.

Wow. I find that very interesting. I need to be more nutrition conscious. It is all contained in a science called Ayurveda. The ether is actually space.
I am predominantly vata dosha, which is air with pitta\fire characteristics and the vata is out of whack or deranged within my system. I need to avoid more drying tastes that contain the drying elements like air and space. That is why I love sweet so much.
How long have you known this about yourself? Do you integrate your type into your diet? I think I gravitate towards sour as I love love love my vinegar. I like salty, too.

Cherry (but only my homemade pie) Apple ( same) Pumpkin (store or my own) Since my back has become so bad, I no longer make my own pie pastry so I use already made and formed frozen which isn't too bad, and put the shell into a 9" glass pie pan. The stuff in the refrigerator section that comes in a roll but needs to be rolled out more is frankly, awful.

Mud pies are pretty good.
