Are you more of the working at a "Haunted House" type or more of the going to a "Haunted House" type?

I recently shot a commercial for a haunted house. I've hung out there and done some work for them. It's kinda cool to see it from behind the scenes and while it's not really in full use. I haven't been there when it's actually in business though. I'll try to check it out this fall. Not sure if I'll just walk through or try to be part of it.
I don't really find any of it 'scary' but if it's well done I can really enjoy the artistry and craftsmanship. Plus I enjoy other people's reactions.

I liked to work in haunted houses when I was a teenager. As an adult, I prefer to attend them.

Me da did like a drink, but he never once laid a finger on us as weans, or me ma... He detested people who hit children, and so do I. Ne'er seen the little people in a house, and only come across them once, on Dartmoor... It is best not to interfere with their earthly business. Ne'er encountered a banshee, and don't wish to.

You mention you lived in a haunted house and after an inquiry still no details? Seriously? Okay. Gosh! Your house was haunted jack?! Did you see ghosts or things moving on their own or what exactly? How do you know the house was haunted?

How do you know the house was haunted? It all began after the layout of the house was altered... The haunting that followed had quite the effect on the family. It manifested in several ways, and targeted everyone in different forms. I don't like to talk about it.

I worked a Halloween festival once, lots of fun walking around in costume creeping people out. I would pick random people and follow them around while obviously trying to hide. Some people got too freaked out and I had to leave them alone. We did a haunted woods and I would follow people who were really scared, out of the woods and scare them again when they thought they were safe. I would make a noise when right behind them and they would scream and run. It's funny because guys and women equally get scared.

I'm more of a go to the haunted house type and I love them!
My friends also do a yearly yard haunt for Halloween...it's very elaborate...looks like a real haunted cemetery and I help them every Halloween, so I semi-sorta work at that one. Whatever the case, Halloween is awesome fun for me and my friends.

When my kids were young, we threw costume parties every year, built Halloween pinatas, and decorated the yard. Halloween is dying here, too many churches out to stop it.

I certainly hope the churches don't have that much power. But what I do know is that Trick or Treat is being replaced by Trunk or Treat where people go to parking lots (some of them church parking lots) and people hand out candy to treaters out of the trunks of their cars. People see that as safer I guess. It's a shame.

Churches run their own haunted house substitutes with scenes of hell and abortions, and have celebrations on Halloween. I don't go them so not sure how they work.

Yes and no... I worked at an Ohio amusement and Water park for 9 years in Admissions. It changed from Sea World, to Six Flags, to Geauga Lake.
So I basically got a front row seat to the Park being made up for Oktoberfest and Halloween. Very cool atmosphere.
Although I didn't get to work in the Haunted House I did get to go in it as a guest and walk around during Oktoberfest.
Having lived in South Carolina for 8 years Fall really isn't the same. It can be in the 80's or 90's until mid November. Having Autumn is about the only thing I miss from Ohio.

I worked at a haunted house for a few hours back in college because my film organization was doing a fundraiser. I didn't do a very good job scaring people. Me and my friend were in a hallway filled with similarly dressed mannequins and we would come to life as the victims would walk by, problem was we were two soft spoken guys with the wrong physiques to blend in with statues and eventually we just started walking around backstage to see how the haunted house operated then I ditched my costume and just rode rides in the amusement park, which I definitely wasn't supposed to be doing.

I've never worked in a Haunted House although I always wanted to. Seems like it would be a lot of fun to scare people. I do enjoy going to Haunted Houses as well.

When our daughter was little and in the Brownies and Girl Scouts, all the troops in the neighborhood would have a Halloween party at the gym in the local Catholic Church, and the parents made a haunted house with all gross things to scare the girls. They loved it!!!! I co-leadered our troop, and my co-leader was the secretary at the church, so we got the gym for free!!!!
