What Ever Happened To Baby Jane? No escape: when those bars were installed, they were stylishly ornamental; now they more than symbolize Blanche's prison.

I'm guessing that the windows in STELLS DALLAS were real glass. Because the "rain" would have melted "sugar windows".
Doesn't matter, though, because no windows were broken in this fantastic movie.
IMO, Barbara Stanwyck deserved the Oscar for her heart-shredding performance.

snsurone I think they missunderstood your point about breakable glass made of suggary or whatever. Some nice pics they sent anyway I prefer to think of it as "topic drift" rather than misunderstanding, although the subject of sugar glass and other breakaway substitutes was pretty well exhausted after a couple days. Here's an image that covers the entire ground: a movie window that's both an iconic one and a breakaway one:

Maybe it's not as iconic as I thought. That's Jason Miller's (or his stunt double's, at any rate) climactic leap of faith, so to speak, in The Exorcist.

There's a memorable scene almost entirely played in in the reflection of a window near the end of the film Road to Perdition (2002), which I just finished watching recently.

I prefer to think of it as "topic drift" A George Hamilton Topic Drift, if you will Here's George near an open window ...in a drift draft.
