I have a few. They are in all different lurid colours, from different places. My late aunt got me a few. I gave some away but kept a couple; these are my favourites.

I have a small rosary of silver and pearl beads, a memento of my grandmother's. They are in a velvet-lined brass box. I never use them, but take them out of my jewelry drawer occasionally when I'm thinking of her.

I just take them out occasionally, when the time feels right. But if there was a fire in my accommodation, I think that box is what I'd probably grab. That and my id lol.

Yes, and I actually pray it daily and have since Aug 2013 with rare misses I don't make up for. it's nearly pointless (I guess I can understand a family member for a personal memory kind of thing though) to have a Rosary unless you pray it! ; it's not a decoration like some seem to see it as but it's basically the most powerful form of personal prayer there is. many Saints and Popes prayed it over the decades/centuries. St. Pio (1887-1968) call it his 'weapon'. The Rosary has been credited for the victory at the Battle of Lepanto in Oct 1571. lenlenlen1Except there is one big difference... The Rosary has real value (when prayed) since it's tied to God (i.e. The Holy Trinity(Father/Son(Jesus Christ)/Holy Spirit)), well basically The Virgin Mary (but basically God) who's the mother of God (well, Jesus Christ in human form), unlike those things (at least the Harry Potter stuff with general magic etc) which are occult etc, which is tied to the devil and should be avoided. but I can tell by your answer you seem to think God is a fairy tale just like Harry Potter etc and your making fun of it. The Rosary, when prayed on a regular basis, is gold but many don't see it unfortunately. it helps keep one from sin which is especially important in today's immoral world. Feologild OakesYour grandmother is wise unlike many today who are godless. it might not seem like it has any value, but trust me, it's gold when prayed regularly as it turns one from the ways of the world (which are often contrary to God), towards God.

I believe there are Rosary Beads in the house, but they aren't mine. I think they belonged to my mother, although I never saw her using them.

She was wise, anyway I don`t use it as i don`t belive God exist.

I had a rosary that was a 165 year old antique, hand carved in Italy. I used to have a fondness for Italian Renaissance Art, and it was a beautiful thing. But I gave it to a friend of mine who is a Roman Catholic; I knew it would have more meaning for her. She's the kind of Catholic that doesn't talk about her religion, she just lives her faith and does things to help others in need. She volunteers frequently at a soup kitchen, mows yards for old folks in her neighborhood, makes repairs to their homes, donates clothing and food.

I believe I have some in the memory box in my attic. I don't remember who gave them to me. It was probably a family member, possibly when I did one of the sacraments for the first time.

I understand what you're saying, but I know catholics who aren't necessarily devout, and don't go to church regularly, but remain true to their faith.
