They shouldn’t have released this June and marketed it as a summer blockbuster.

In the time it takes Disney to say 10 billion dollars they make 10 billion dollars. I'm not shedding a tear over this.
Though I assume this means New Mutants will never see the light of day?

I’ve heard a rumor that they might be contractually obligated to release NM in theaters. If that’s true, that would explain why they’re not just dumping it to Hulu.

They shouldn’t have released this June and marketed it as a summer blockbuster. Because that would have made a difference... Yes, it would have. -The move to June made it face tons of competition. Not even Secret Life of Pet 2 came out unscathed, which made less than half of the previous film’s box office. -The move hurt the marketing campaign due to the merger layoffs. This was reported back in March. The movie had less awareness rates any other X-film and even Rocketman as a result. -Misleadingly marketing hurts movies. That is a known fact.

Dark Phoenix makes for a convenient scapegoat, but it's really not the only or biggest reason their earning are being scrutinized. Disney failed to beat the street. Q-over-Q they did better than last year.

They shouldn’t have released this June and marketed it as a summer blockbuster. There's not all that much that's really "blockbuster" about the film though. It feels a lot smaller in scale than some of the other entries.

Yeah I'm not shedding a tear over Disney losing money. They'll make it back anyway.

Previous entries also hurt franchise movies, also. And taking X-men off the title could also be a factor. They aren't Logan or Deadpool.

Yeah, it had other movies between Origins (which killed a whole side franchise) and Logan that had Wolverine in it. Apocalypse was the previous movie and Dark Phoenix starred all the actors from Apocalypse and not the ones from Days of Future Past. I don't think they understood that people went to see DoFP for the nostalgia of the previous trilogy's actors.

They went to see DOFP as it was one of the the best superhero movies out there. Do you think MCU will do better with X-Men after messing up Endgame?

Predictable cliche comic book story.
It's heh HAHAHAHA! more jokes I missed in the movie worse than fat thor? Generic superhero final battle like all Avengers movies, when at this point, Avengers should have grown more into a space court drama with Thanos. Endgame should have taken lessons from The Dark Knight Rises.
Endgame is how you expect Disney to make a time travel movie. silly, unbelievable, childish with no kind of intellectual external commentary beyond superhero stories. It is pretty messed up if you put it against Nolan's interstellar, The Time Machine, 12 Moneys or DOFP.
What is funny is MCU fans are still defending this type of superhero movies and MCU fans wonder why Endgame is the highest grossing film of all time that everyone forgot to congratulate.

They really couldn’t. Not with that budget.
