Rest in peace, Robert Osborne! I enjoyed watching his commentary and gained a greater appreciation of classic films because of him. I noticed he was looking frail about two years ago so this was sort of expected. Nevertheless, he will be missed. My condolences to the staff at TCM, his friends, and family.

March 10, 2017 marks the 7'Th anniversary of the passing of Toronto-Born actor Corey Haim, who died in 2010 at the young age of 38 years. There are not too many celebrity deaths which I go into deep mourning over. I definitely mourned the passing of Princess Diana 20 years ago, & I was really shocked when Michael Jackson died back in 2009, but, those 2 were constantly front & centre in the media, back when they were alive.
I mourned Corey Haim, because for me he wasn't just a movie star. He was my former school mate, back in elementary school. In fact, Corey attended so many schools in the Toronto suburbs of Thornhill and Willowdale, that practically everyone from the afore-mentioned places knew him from school, & if not school, then from playing ice hockey, or lived on the same street as him, etc. Everyone who knew him personally, was really proud of his success in Hollywood and that he made a name for himself there & in the world.
Sadly, I never crossed paths again with him in person, after he went to Hollywood. However, I finally visited his grave recently, & saw so many tributes to my childhood schoolmate, turned Hollywood movie star. His star faded in the 90s, but, he was slowly returning to the big & little screens again, shortly before he passed away. Had he not died, he probably be at the very top of his game again today in Hollywood.
Rest in peace, Corey.
