Life of Brian and Last Temptation of Christ were actually passed by censors, though some councils refused to allow them in their fiefdoms. Even though Last Temptation had been viewed by several Church representatives as consultants who agreed, it may offend some viewers but the content was not blasphemous.
Hail Mary (1985)
-A drama from Jean-Luc Godard about a modern-day woman called Mary who has a virgin birth.
-A lot of nudity, but not really a film de sleaze, that was still enough to get some folks in Australia wound up, and it has yet to see a release in Britain, a case of an unofficial ban.
Catacombs (1988)
-A horror flick from David Schmoeller who made Tourist Trap and Puppet Master (and a few of its sequels).
-Passed 18 after 12 seconds were cut. The UK release is missing a sequence in which a priest is punished for his gluttony by Christ. In the sequence removed by the Board, a statue of Christ came alive and stabbed the priest to death with a nail he had pulled from his ankle.
Belladonna: My Ass Is Haunted (2004)
-It's exactly what it sounds.
-It's exactly what it sounds.
-Passed R18 after 28 minutes 46 seconds were cut. The UK release is missing "abusive and potentially harmful activity" (in this case aggressive forcing of an oversized butt plug into woman's mouth and anus), a reference to underage sex, and blasphemous activity (in this case insertion of crucifix-shaped dildos into anus and vagina of women role-playing as nuns).
The Big Bang (1987)
-An animated Belgian-French comedy
-Passed 18 after 10 seconds of cuts. The UK release is missing a sequence in which an animated version of God appeared to be having sex and then uttered an expletive.
The Devils (1971)
-Ken Russell's scandalous classic with Oliver Reed and Vanessa Redgrave.
-Ken Russell's scandalous classic with Oliver Reed and Vanessa Redgrave.
-17 councils refused to show it. The 1971 cinema release had been cut by the distributors under advice from censors. Ths is the version released to DVD in 2012. It is missing these scenes:
the explicitness and duration of certain sexual elements, including an orgy of nuns
elements of violence and gore during an interrogation scene and the final burning of the character played by Oliver Reed
scenes that mixed sexual activity and religion in a potentially inflammatory fashion.
A scene showing nuns assaulting an effigy of the cross was deleted (approximately 30s)
An enema scene loses some details
The crushing of Grandier's legs loses details.
Grandier's tongue torture loses details
Shots of a priest being assaulted by nuns after the King's visit are missing
Jeanne masturbating with a charred bone was cut
Whippings scenes throughout were removed
-The version released to VHS in 1988 was the more heavily cut R-rated version missing these scenes
An enema scene loses some details

Shots of Jeanne masturbating and two shots of her whipping herself have been removed.

-Warner Bros themselves have refused to release a "Director's Cut", though it did get one UK screening to celebrate 100 years of the BBFC. While some scenes have been lost, this version featued stuff that have been missing from the film since before its 1971 release, such as a scene called "Rape of Christ", in which a group of nuns cavort on a crucifix.

Multiple Maniacs (1970)
-One from John Waters.
-The 1990 VHS was passed 18 after 4 minutes 53 seconds were cut. The missing scene is an entire supposedly blasphemous sequence set in a church in which a male transvestite buggered himself with a rosary. The shots of the transvestite were intercut with footage of Christ moving through the Stations of the Cross. It was passed uncut in 2016 for a theatrical showing, and for DVD in 2017.
Visions of Ecstasy (1989)
-Short softcore nunsploitation smut.
-It was banned outright from VHS in 1990, and wasn't released until 2012. The whole premise revolves round a figure representing St Teresa of Avila interacting sexually with a figure representing the crucified Christ..
