dorothy and the marinated marionettes of malcontent
no sooner had the centuries-old gauze been foisted from the outskirts of oz did dorothy realize to pause knowing full well the cause for which gods were being cheered like witches finally doing the dishes after the cannibalistic wishes they'd fed off for centuries.
dorothy knew they were so far beyond pretty please that any mention of get up off your knees would be seen as treason in the eyes of those where reason meant nothing more than teasing a farm girl with a lollipop just about to drop in an air raid fit to chop anyone seen using religion as a glorified mop cleaning up the juices of far too many excuses for even dorothy to keep track of.

That sounds like an endorsement of the "argumentum ad hominem", described in Wiki as "a fallacious argumentative strategy whereby genuine discussion of the topic at hand is avoided by instead attacking the character, motive, or other attribute of the person making the argument, or persons associated with the argument, rather than attacking the substance of the argument itself".
In other words, the verse is saying that if you are faced with a reasoned argument against some Christian doctrine, you can dismiss it as hollow and deceptive purely on the basis of where it comes from rather than any weakness in the argument itself.
I'm not sure why you would think he was arguing anyway. I know theophobiacs routinely think everything is a debate topic but Paul wasn’t debating anyone not was he preparing to. How would you even know the philosophy in question he was discussing hadn’t already been argued successfully if it were ever an argument which it wasn’t? Btw, he was discussing something that was argued for decades and is discussed numerously across several books leading the description of it being hollow and deceptive. Do you know what it is? If I said don’t fix liver because it’s nasty would that be the fancy Latin phrase you just used?

romancing the clone
with half the world in-waiting half a world still hating breathlessly i sat anticipating the heart behind a voice eviscerating those primal fears still mating with the powers that be.
so thoughtfully i write to he whatever will be will be in my own three quarter hierarchy choruses of: nearer my god to thee!

And the verse tells people they'll know those teachings are false because they come from "human tradition and the elemental spiritual forces of this world" - because of where they come from. And that's the essence of the "argumentum ad hominem". If believers have faith that Christianity is the truth then it follows that any religious and philosophical teaching that contradicts or deviates from that they must assume it is false. Corrected. You also missed out the rider concerning persecution, torture and wars against those in the past who were not so comfortable with accepted doctrine. There are several cases of your ever-honest deity lying by proxy in the Bible. So God doesn't lie ... but He can send lying spirits so, er, that's just fine then. The equivalent is saying that I am not a murderer if I send assassins. There is also the interesting consideration that, if God was a liar, He would necessarily be the best and most perfect one. One obvious definition of a supremely successful deceiver, or trickster, is that He would remain undetected in His grand mendacity, or one could then think of an entity more efficient or better at something than the entity - which is not possible. And, the usual special pleading notwithstanding, we are still awaiting the assured return of Christ although generations have 'gone away'.

the douche bag dichotomy
here's the thing if on the one hand you have a leader who makes jimmy hoffa look like peter pan all the while professing to believe that law brings order while he's busy skirting every proposition every to be mentioned in any constitution anywhere.
should the citizenry actually care if his current wife looks hot in victoria secret underwear or just go with the god followers as they aimlessly stare while being jerked around as if their jesus founded the nra on his father's bold-faced dare.
unfortunately douche bags are with us always and sometimes we have to live with the glare.

Just because I expect theophobiacs to debate stuff does not mean that’s what I want. I just know its going to happen. I just hope there’s enough verses posted before the possible derailment.

So all you expected to happen was for people to post verse on religious message board without further exegesis and engagement? That doesn't sound very likely, even for a theophiliac..

How would you even know the philosophy in question he was discussing hadn’t already been argued successfully if it were ever an argument which it wasn’t? I never suggested he was arguing. Where do you get this from? I'm just looking at these "words of wisdom" he is giving to Christians, and see that he tells them that they can judge an argument as false by where it comes from. So, he's endorsing the ad hominem fallacy. No, it wouldn't. (I assumed that a term so often used on this board was familiar to you.)

================================================= Acts 16:3 Berean Literal Bible
Paul wanted this one to go forth with him, and having taken him, he circumcised him on account of the Jews being in those parts; for they all knew that his father was a Greek. ================================================= Genesis 34 King James Version (KJV)
34 And Dinah the daughter of Leah, which she bare unto Jacob, went out to see the daughters of the land.
2 And when Shechem the son of Hamor the Hivite, prince of the country, saw her, he took her, and lay with her, and defiled her.
3 And his soul clave unto Dinah the daughter of Jacob, and he loved the damsel, and spake kindly unto the damsel.
4 And Shechem spake unto his father Hamor, saying, Get me this damsel to wife.
5 And Jacob heard that he had defiled Dinah his daughter: now his sons were with his cattle in the field: and Jacob held his peace until they were come.
6 And Hamor the father of Shechem went out unto Jacob to commune with him.
7 And the sons of Jacob came out of the field when they heard it: and the men were grieved, and they were very wroth, because he had wrought folly in Israel in lying with Jacob's daughter: which thing ought not to be done.
8 And Hamor communed with them, saying, The soul of my son Shechem longeth for your daughter: I pray you give her him to wife.
9 And make ye marriages with us, and give your daughters unto us, and take our daughters unto you.
10 And ye shall dwell with us: and the land shall be before you; dwell and trade ye therein, and get you possessions therein.
11 And Shechem said unto her father and unto her brethren, Let me find grace in your eyes, and what ye shall say unto me I will give.
12 Ask me never so much dowry and gift, and I will give according as ye shall say unto me: but give me the damsel to wife.
13 And the sons of Jacob answered Shechem and Hamor his father deceitfully, and said, because he had defiled Dinah their sister:
14 And they said unto them, We cannot do this thing, to give our sister to one that is uncircumcised; for that were a reproach unto us:
15 But in this will we consent unto you: If ye will be as we be, that every male of you be circumcised;
16 Then will we give our daughters unto you, and we will take your daughters to us, and we will dwell with you, and we will become one people.
17 But if ye will not hearken unto us, to be circumcised; then will we take our daughter, and we will be gone.
18 And their words pleased Hamor, and Shechem Hamor's son.
19 And the young man deferred not to do the thing, because he had delight in Jacob's daughter: and he was more honourable than all the house of his father.
20 And Hamor and Shechem his son came unto the gate of their city, and communed with the men of their city, saying,
21 These men are peaceable with us; therefore let them dwell in the land, and trade therein; for the land, behold, it is large enough for them; let us take their daughters to us for wives, and let us give them our daughters.
22 Only herein will the men consent unto us for to dwell with us, to be one people, if every male among us be circumcised, as they are circumcised.
23 Shall not their cattle and their substance and every beast of their's be our's? only let us consent unto them, and they will dwell with us.
24 And unto Hamor and unto Shechem his son hearkened all that went out of the gate of his city; and every male was circumcised, all that went out of the gate of his city.
25 And it came to pass on the third day, when they were sore, that two of the sons of Jacob, Simeon and Levi, Dinah's brethren, took each man his sword, and came upon the city boldly, and slew all the males.
26 And they slew Hamor and Shechem his son with the edge of the sword, and took Dinah out of Shechem's house, and went out.
27 The sons of Jacob came upon the slain, and spoiled the city, because they had defiled their sister.
28 They took their sheep, and their oxen, and their asses, and that which was in the city, and that which was in the field,
29 And all their wealth, and all their little ones, and their wives took they captive, and spoiled even all that was in the house.
30 And Jacob said to Simeon and Levi, Ye have troubled me to make me to stink among the inhabitants of the land, among the Canaanites and the Perizzites: and I being few in number, they shall gather themselves together against me, and slay me; and I shall be destroyed, I and my house.
31 And they said, Should he deal with our sister as with an harlot?

“And Jephthah made a vow to the Lord, and said, ‘If you will give the Ammonites into my hand, then whoever comes out of the doors of my house to meet me, when I return victorious from the Ammonites, shall be the Lord’s, to be offered up by me as a burnt-offering.’ Then Jephthah came to his home at Mizpah; and there was his daughter coming out to meet him with timbrels and with dancing. She was his only child; he had no son or daughter except her. When he saw her, he tore his clothes, and said, ‘Alas, my daughter! You have brought me very low; you have become the cause of great trouble to me. For I have opened my mouth to the Lord, and I cannot take back my vow.’” (Judges 11:30-1, 34-5)
Another instruction from scripture inspired by God - but to modern minds used to notions of obsessive psychology and hubris among theophiles, probably not in the way that the ancient writers intended.

Seems like what happens when we quote Bible verses is that some theists get a bit uncomfortable about it!

"Know ye that light be both a wave and a particle, that creation is expanding, and that the earth I maketh do circle the sun in an ellipse" Newton 1:2 -3
"And I say unto you that I will return on Sunday 19th August 2019" Promises 68:9
Oh sorry, these are verses which it would have been nice to see in the Bible. One as an example of only something God would have known back in the day, and the other that requires no special pleading (at least assuming it happens) since it is precise.
