From writers of Bay's TMNT. Chris Mcquarrie has nothing to do with this.

It's sad the way they hijacked GI Joe to make two shitty movies that are GI Joe in name only. It doesn't seem like that difficult a concept to adapt to the big screen. That first one in particular looked like one of the worst films ever made. (Never saw it.) I watched the second one on tv and don't remember anything about it. This is going to be even worse if the TMNT writers are behind the script.
How about adapting some of the story arcs from the comics? At the very least make the characters feel anything like their comic or cartoon counterparts. Why bother calling it GI Joe if you're not going to make it feel like GI Joe?

They need to film the Mass Device story from the cartoons with no changes or gender swaps or Hollyweird idiocy.

It is difficult to adapt if you are adhering to SJW principles. Even for 1982, there was a lot to be triggered by-like the leader was Duke-a Doc Savage-type white guy. Interestingly, only GiJoe was diverse. Cobra had zero nonwhite members.

Ironically, that was probably intentional for the same reason-- political correctness. GI Joe was ahead of its time I guess. Oh I am sure it was intentional. But they still had to have white leads in the toys because it would be hard to sell them to kids if they had no such options. Ditto with He-man. The movie business was far more SJW-focused by 1982. Comics and cartoons were not seen as the biggest megaphone for political messages. Even the comic version of Star Wars--Luke is depicted in the cover art (and poster art) as a tough hero type, not a wimp. The issue on the cantina fight it has him blasting away at the aliens and telling Obi Wan to swing the light saber. That's because such a hero-type sells better to kids than a wimp.

The character lineup is mostly unknown so far but is expected to be featuring everyone's favorite Joe...Chuckles. I remember his action figure. He wore a hawaiian shirt.

1. I forget whether I said it on this site or IMDb, but the best way to make a G.I. Joe movie would be to mimic the Mission Impossible flicks. Maybe you can get away with adding a little bit more sci-fi, but the past two movies might have been too cartoony for most audiences.
2. When did Chuckles become popular? I'm seeing this all over the Internet lately.
3. I didn't think the second one was that bad.Not a good movie, but I thought it was entertaining.

Aside from the RZA cameo but thatβs self explanatory. I liked both films.

Wasn't he the dude riding on top of the helicopter, shooting at Cobra planes with a pistol in the animated film? Also, when it crashed through that building that seemed to be made entirely of glass, not only was he not reduced to unidentifiable pieces, he was the first one to help the rest of the Joes out of the wreckage. (I don't know why I bothered with the italics, this entire statement is gloriously absurd in a way only a cartoon can be.) Anyway he appears to be superhuman, so... hey there's an idea. Since superheroes are in vogue, why not embrace some of the crazier Joe stuff such as Serpentor and Cobra-La for the next film? Who am I kidding, they can't even get characters like Ripcord right, there's no way in hell I want them taking deep dives into the Joe mythology.

They need to get GI Joe right before moving on to Snake Eyes.

Eh... I dunno how I feel about that. π The first two movies were fun brainless Popcorn flicks. (I haven't watched "Snake Eyes".
