I seriously put Breaking Bad up there with any piece of art that has ever been created. It is perfection. The acting, writing, and direction of the show are so good that the show has become a work of art to me. It is the perfect television show and may never be matched. I know most of you know this, but I just recently watched it again. It has been a while since I've seen it and I was once again blown away.

I thought the first season, which built up the character of Walter White bordered on art. The character development was rich and complex and far beyond what the average television drama allows for creating. Unfortunately, I also felt the series got more and more cartoonish and self-indulgent as it progressed, and really fell apart for me by the final episodes. But that first season is fantastic, and a milestone in character development on a television series.

In fact, I would argue that seasons 3-5 blow away seasons one and two.

For those who prefer the action aspects, 3 through 5 would definitely kick it. I liked the subtlety better myself, but it's all a matter of personal preference.

I recently re-watched BB and was surprised the plot moves more briskly than I remember. Jesse was less a presence than he seemed the first time. I also really hated the final season and would skip it if I ever watch it again. It's still in my top 5 of dramas with 5 or more seasons.

It’s not perfect. It’s doesnt even get really good until like season 4.

While I loved the show, I don't think it was perfection. I like Better Call Saul more.
I actually thought it spun its wheels a lot between the cat and mouse stuff and the cancer.
The very first episode telegraphed to me He was an extremely lucky man and would continue to be so.
I will say that, aside from Mad Men, this had a one of the best casts ever and the supporting stories were usually more interesting than Walt's to me.
I will also say that while Breaking Bad isn't my favorite show, Ozymandias is probably in my top 5 TV episodes of all time & I have watched a lot of TV.

Also one of the besting looking shows. Both it and Better Call Saul knew how to film landscapes/cityscapes that looks utterly bland in a way that was beautiful & movie like.
