Series finale last night. I have recorded it but haven't watched it yet. Can't believe it's been seven years. While it certainly doesn't stand a chance of finding its way into my Top 10 TV series of all time, I have thoroughly enjoyed its entire run. Johnny Lee Miller did a great job, and so did the writers for the most part (there were a few episodes that were a bit too far-fetched for my taste).

Care to spoil it? I quit around s5 or whenever he was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Did he die? It wasn't a brain tumor, it was some sort of temporary brain damage he suffered as a result of a beating he took. No, he didn't die. He took a prolonged vacation as per doctor's orders and presumably that allowed his brain to recover, as the whole thing was never mentioned again. At the end of season 6 Sherlock confesses to a murder he didn't commit (long story) and flees back to England. That's where he and Watson are living at the beginning of season 7, helping Scotland Yard. Then Captain Gregson is shot in New York and they return to the USA to help solving the case - which turns out to be part of a plotline that develops through the whole season, with the appearance of a new arch-nemesis.

I was surprised to find that it was still on … gave up on it seasons ago. Clever idea but it wore thin really quickly and this Sherlock was the most annoying Sherlock ever ! .
