Fuck Jeremy Irons I guess. Not much of a reason to concern themselves with sticking to the Snyderverse at this point. You can bet Commissioner Gordon will be played by a different actor too.

Timothy Dalton would make a better Alfred than Brosnan.

Timothy Dalton would make a better Alfred than Brosnan. Isn't he in Doom Patrol at the moment?

Seems to be a popular thing these days to make Alfred into a badass, its funny when you consider that in his earliest appearances in the comic books he was depicted as an overweight, bumbling, butler. I do wonder if he'll sport a moustache in the movie though, I don't think he has had one in a movie since...The Adam West one in the 60's?

I'd be all for this if it happens.

Sam Neill would be an awesome choice, and he looks good with a mustache. Not to mention, he's not super-tall, so he wouldn't dwarf Pattinson.

I was watching HUNT FOR RED OCTOBER the day before posting that, and it just occurred to me (and, I say this with love, not to be mean) that he sort of has that look where people would think he was just a stuffy, older butler dude, and would not see him at all as a threat - which is a good thing for an Alfred. Plus, it doesn't take too much to make him look a bit younger, so if they have a flashback of when he first came to work for the Waynes or to Martha & Thomas's funeral, Neill could pull it off (something like what they did with Anthony Hopkins in THE MASK OF ZORRO).
