So I was watching a bit of Sling Blade the other night. Do kids IRL have the same awareness as they do in the movies? And do they have the same affection and show it for an adult friend?

Some children do. I think the best child performance I've seen is Henry Thomas in E.T.

I remember one time I was at a store and this girl who was maybe around 4 was saying hello to everyone.
I know someone who has a daughter who always moved her legs around when she was a baby and she ended up becoming a dancer.

Yeah of course. Do you forget what it was like to be a kid?

Yeah of course. Do you forget what it was like to be a kid? I had nowhere the same awareness that I do now and I certainly had nowhere the same awareness as kids in movies because I was not following a script. I know you are trying to help but your response is not really helpful. I feel like you are just guessing instead of answering from examples or knowledge.

Watch some Hirokazu Kore-eda movies - they're some of the most unreal child performances I've ever seen. So natural. The answer then is yes.

The Main Cast of the 2017 "IT" Movie were kids and I thought that they all did a Pretty Darn Good Job.

I am not asking how smart child actors are. I am asking if kids InRealLife are as smart and aware as children are depicted in movies. What part of this don't you understand?

Some do, some do not.
But children and teenagers are often given way to much life experiences in movies and tv shows than what is normal at that age they are or are portraying.

You mean you never went on an overnight quest with four or five other friends in search of a dead human body off of railroad tracks and then one of you pulled a gun on a leader with his gang who wanted to take credit for finding the body first even though they showed up second? That happens to every kid. And not you?

If kids in movies had a "normal" upbringing/experience than it wouldn't be entertaining to watch. Of course in reaction to the outlandish situation the movie has them in if they reacted how "normal" kids/teens would act it would also be boring cause they would either be screaming/crying or meekly following instructions of whatever adult they were around. If by themselves would be clueless what to do. Movies have to make them like mini adults though I think.
They can still be kids though, I think of something like Natalie Portman in The Professional, sure she is with a hitman (making it a movie) but I think she is acting like a 12yr old might, in over her head and desperate to act like an adult and of course failing miserably.
